Dexter puts Sophie up for eviction, twist revealed as lie

Earlier tonight, Big Brother told the four nominees – Charlie, Dexter, Jack and Joe and Sam – that one of them would be leaving the house tonight with a chunk of the winner’s prize fund.

Individually, each nominee entered the task room to choose the lowest amount that they would be willing to accept to leave the Big Brother house immediately.

Once all four had chosen an amount and sealed it in a briefcase, Big Brother lined them up in the living room, and one by one they were instructed to reveal their amounts.

Sam had the highest amount, the full ÂĢ100,000, while Jack and Joe chose ÂĢ96,850. Charlie had slightly more – ÂĢ99,000 – before Dexter revealed his ÂĢ88,800.

However, Big Brother then revealed that his earlier announcement had been a lie – and confirmed that nobody would be leaving the house tonight, nor would any money be deducted from the prize fund.

Instead, as he had proven himself to be the least greedy housemate, Dexter was told he’d been saved from eviction – but, as a result, he’d have to choose either Gina or Sophie to replace him.

After an agonising deliberation, he named Sophie as the replacement nominee – meaning either Charlie, Jack and Joe, Sam or Sophie will be evicted this Friday.

I think that was pretty disgusting for all that twist info in tweets and vids to come tumbling in during highlight show time TBH

I think it is all being covered in full during BOTS tonight

I dont know where BBExtra gets his info but think/hope he was spot on - just a shame CH5 website still has no confirmation and we have to get it from outside sources

I agree. It should have all played out in a Live show

10.13pm: Charlie doesn't believe Dexter's intentions during the and is telling him as much.

10.25pm: Sam looks like he's ranting in the Diary Room. We can warrant a guess who he's ranting about...

10.33pm: Dexter thinks the others should get over it. Somehow, we don't see that happening.

10.39pm: Gina's take on the situation, "That was so like hours ago. Get over it!" Dex can always count on his BFF for real talk.

Day 63: The Big Pay Off has repercussions

A wise man once said, every action has an equal and opposite reaction. We're writers, here, not physicists, so we're not entirely sure how to apply that to the way the House reacted to tonight's Big Pay Off twist. Instead, we'll say this: Dexter is being questioned left, right and centre on his motives.

If you watched the videos (and if you didn't, stop right there, rewind and get them watched pronto!) you'll have seen that Dexter went for the ÂĢ88,800. When the amounts were revealed, it was revealed that Dexter chose the lowest amount, and would therefore leave with ÂĢ88,800 of the ÂĢ100,000 prize fund.

Except, this was a LIE! Dexter's actual prize was a free pass to the final, and he got to choose someone to replace him on the eviction chopping block this Friday.

Understandably, the House is now full of speculation. Charlie and Dexter had one of their deep chats, which largely consisted of Charlie wondering "is he the game player everyone said?" and reasoning that she believed Dexter had gone for a purposeful 'steal', while herself and Sam had chosen the highest possible figures to ensure they stayed on.

Charlie said "it was a high enough amount to walk away with a s**tload of money, and low enough to be the lowest amount [chosen]...I can't understand where your head is!" Sam chipped in "you're full of s**t" to Dexter, which is a more concise way of putting it, we suppose...

Interestingly, nobody seems to be picking up on the fact that the twins also could have chosen a higher amount for safety's sake, but opted for ÂĢ96,850. Jack and Joe themselves have weighed in on the issue, blasting Dexter. Joe said "he's been playing a game since Day 1!"

With Sophie in agreement with the consensus, it seems the only housemate on Dexter's side is Gina. So, not for the first time, we're seeing a Ginxter alliance against accusations of deviousness and ruthless game playing.

Day 63 round-up: The Big Pay Off makes waves

The Rescue Squad were in full force on Day 64. Having spent the night manning the fort and saving various food stuffs from peril, it was surprising that they had any energy left to take on the bigger rescue missions later in the day.

But, this is the Rescue Squad we're talking about, and they do flourish in the face of adversity. Not only did they use their honing skills to track down some hijacked luxuries, but they also took on a pesky steam roller, preventing their grub from turning to mush. Our heroes!

Luckily their hard work paid off, as they learnt that they hadwon a luxury budget for the final week. Hurrah! We've never seen a group of people get so excited over a bag of cashew nuts and a few packets of crisps.

Alas, the joyus mood was soon to be quashed when Big Brother pulled another corker out of the bag in the form of the'Big Pay Off'. With the chance of pocketing a stash of cash and an early exit from the House, the nominated four decided to play tactical. However, it was 'least' greedy Dexter who saw the fruits of his labour, learning that his 'selfless' act actuallygained a bigger reward than he could have ever expected.

Not surprisingly, his intentions were questioned by the other housemates, with Charlie scrutinizing his motives and Sam accusing him of being a gameplayer. Oh dear, looks like another one of Dexter's ill thought-out decisions has backfired. At least he's got BFF Gina to on his side, otherwise the next 5 days would be pretty awkward to say the least.

Tonight on Big Brother's Bit on the Side: Thursday 15th August

So many guests, so little time! Emma has an awesome show lined up for you tonight.

Presenter Will Best will be having his say on the remaining housemates and vocal coach and actress Zoe Tyler will be joining him on the panel.

If that's not enough, Ruby, Sophia and Melissa from Girlfri3nds are on board and Diane 'Jet' Youdale will be taking a look at how our housemates are coping with their last few days!

Keep the telly on Channel 5 after the main show. That's 11pm if you'd like to note it down in the diary.

Day 64: Big Brother's Best Friend task

Big Brother is looking to recruit a best friend and where better to snare one than the House.

It's a secret mission for Gina who will be Big Brother's BFF for the duration of the task.

Gina will have an earpiece through which BB will relay various tasks for the new bezzie to complete without the other housemates realising.

If Gina proves herself to be a good enough best buddy then she will be rewarded. If she fails, she will be sent straight to the slammer.

Her challenges will include insulting a fellow housemate's appearance, throwing a random strop and stealing something. Will Gina succeed? We'll keep you posted.

Scotty

2.39pm: Gina is now officially BB's BFF. Well BF for the task at least. She's got mischief to make.

2.54pm: Gina has been critiquing Sam's wardrobe. Is this part of the task?

3.01pm: Gina's new BFF is a bad influence

3.12pm: Gina is doing a cracking job of this task. She has Charlie convinced she knows more about the HMs than they do.

3.26pm: Dexter is taking the bait as well.

3.25pm: Gina has told charlie she deserves to go on Friday. Charlie is seriously miffed. Naughty

3.48pm: Gina is throwing the most awesome strop. This is part of the task. not that the HMs know that.

4.02pm: The twins are really angry with Gina. She pointed at them during her

rant.

4.20pm: Gina's BB BFF has told her to chuck Sophie's dressing gown in the pool. Will she/won't she?

4.26pm: Joe doesn't think there will be a task today. If only he knew.
