Day 48: Callum takes trash talk too far

Earlier this evening, Cowboy Callum faced his nemesis, Dexter the Devious, in an epic battle of steadiness that we called the 'Flinch Off', which saw the competitive Cowboy crowned victorious and the House win 25 per cent of the budget.
But before the drama unfolded in the ring, the real battle was fought behind the scenes in the dressing room, as the duo took full advantage of the time alone to trash talk each other. Callum in particular went all guns blazing, letting Dexter know exactly what he thought of him.
However, reflecting in the bedroom after the challenge, Callum confessed that he may have over-stepped the mark.
"I know I went off the deep end... but that's how I feel. That's how I react when I feel someone is being condescending," he said.
The man on the receiving end of his tongue-lashing had similar thoughts.
"It just astonishes me that someone would go that deep," Dexter told Hazel.
It seems a few truths have been aired today that won't help the Dexter/Callum relationship. Even though Callum has vowed to apologise to Dexter later this evening, we have a feeling this won't be brushed aside in a hurry.

Day 48 round-up: The housemates meet their nemeses

The housemates awoke on Day 48 with the outside world not far from their minds, however they couldn't ponder for long as they were rudely interrupted by the entrance of pro-wrestlers Lionheart and Lion Kid, who introduced this week's shopping task, Nemesis.

The housemates learnt that to win a luxury shopping budget this week, they must take on their House nemesis in a series of challenges. The pairings came as no surprise, with Dexter facing Callum, Hazel verses Gina and Joe challenging Jack. The odd one out, Charlie, was given the role of referee, who put the housemates through a gruelling workout.

Provided with their alter egos, the housemates threw themselves into the task. Gina and Hazel in particular enjoyed a bit of sticky rough and tumble, while the twins used their famous wit to trash talk each other. Callum and Dexter also used the opportunity to get a few things off their chest, with things getting a little close to the bone in the changing rooms.

But the fighting talk didn't end there, with the nemeses taking their grievances to the stage, resulting in one awkward press conference. Luckily for ultra-competitive Callum, he managed to claw back some man points by winning the 'Flinch Off'. But if you thought that'd be enough to silence the rivalry talk for the evening, you'd be wrong, as Callum spent the rest of the nightarguing with Dexter over who’s the biggest wally.

We think they should agree that they can both be a bit silly at times, but somehow we don't see that happening.

So with more nemesis challenges today, we're sure going to see much more fighting talk from these two. Stay with us to catch all the highlights.

Day 48: Sam tells Callum it's time to forget Charlie

It's got to be the ultimate rebuff. Charlie nominated her number one admirer and initially the man himself, Callum wasn't too chuffed.

However, best buddy and fellow 'lad' Sam thinks Callum has switched from spurned (wannabe) lover to doormat.

"I think you are being too forgiving to her," he said. . "To other people too."

Callum was defiant. "Should I ignore her? At the end of the day she put me up for nomination – in this House this is the worst thing you can do to someone. You can bitch and whine...

"I won't forgive her for it." You go girl. Sorry guy.

Sam wasn't convinced. "You can do what you want to do but if you want a piece of advice...I don't want you turning not a dickhead."

Cue an in-depth analysis of the relationship so far from Callum. Here are the highlights.  "For five weeks in my head, I was saying I'd be lucky to get a girl like Charlie. Do you not what I'm saying now. I don't need a girl like Charlie I'll be alright.

"I'll find a girl who's decent and beautiful. Maybe not now. In three or five years time."

Is Callum about to start practising what he is preaching?

Sam reinforced his point saying, "When I look at you I would have said that nomination never happened."

Will Callum takes agony uncle Sam's advice on board? Don't go anywhere. We're battening down the hatches.

Tonight on Big Brother's Bit On The Side - Wednesday 31st July

We're ridiculously excited about tonight's line up. Waterloo Road star, Strictly Come Dancing dynamite and altogether amazing actress Chelsee Healey is in the studio. She'll be giving us her thoughts on the comings and goings in that House, as will Martin "Chariots" Offiah – rugby legend. Frankly, we're honoured to have such a noble sportsman under our roof.

Also coming along for the ride is sardonic but sweet ex-housemate, Luke Marsden and the inimitable body language expert, Dame Judi James.

We're shaking with excitement - see you on Channel 5 at 11pm!

Surely Peter Andre would be mad to do it. He has a pretty high profile and is generally well loved/liked ......it could all go pear shaped.

And pleeeeeeeeeeese no, no, no Helen Flanagan - I don't think I could bear it.

Aimee I watched his last series with his gf and it's obvious they love each other, she's a really nice girl, sensible and training to be a doctor. I hope they stay together

So do I. I know a lot of people think he's cheesey and all that but I think he's lovely. He deserves to be happy.

I think he's a genuinely nice person, he also laughs at himself a lot which is a nice characteristic

Day 49 round-up: It's all about the Nemesis task

As day dawned on the housemates' 49th day in the Big Brother House, there was no rest for the wicked. The Nemesis task rolled on for another day, with BB demanding housemates start their day with sit-ups, body builder poses and raw egg breakfasts before they'd had a chance to wipe the sleep from their eyes. Gina was not impressed with her eggy treat.

The arguments of verbal warriors Jack and Joe have given us many a giggle, so we were delighted to see them facing offas part of the Nemesis task. They had to perform a balancing act for their battle, which saw one twin, then the other, take on a balance beam obstacle course while his brother pelted him with foam balls. Oh, twins! Later, Sophie and Sam were pitted against each other in a game of wits and strength. Joe and Sam won their respective challenges, each netting the coveted ÂĢ20 bonus personal budget.

As the evening wore on, Gina cooked up a tasty treat and then Big Brother gave the housemates something to talk about. A pretty tiring day, all told, which probably explains why they were all in bed soon after midnight. Bless 'em.
