11.28am: Adam, Luke S and Luke A have emerged dressed as traffic wardens, announcing the brand new Rules Are For Fools task.
Day 37: This week's shopping task is Rules Are For Fools!
This week, Big Brother wants to teach our housemates the importance of obeying the rules. Not just any old rules, mind you. Big Brother's seen fit to introduce some new House rules to see how the housemates cope.
Three of the gang will be made wardens and their task will see them monitoring whether or not their fellow housemates break these new House rules and whether or not the task is passed or failed will depend on the decisions of the Wardens.
They'll be asked to keep an eye out for and correctly identify all rule-breaks over the next two days. To add to their woes, the wardens will incur fails if they don't spot rule breaks or if they dish out their penalty tickets unfairly. If any single housemate is issued with two tickets, they'll be sent to the punishment area to think long and hard about what they've done.
The number of fails that the wardens are allowed to incur will be kept inside an envelope in a glass case and, come the end of the task, it'll be broken open to reveal the result.
As ever, Big Brother will be watching and will reveal how many fails have been incurred at the end of the task.
If it seems a little harsh, remember: we don't make the rules. Big Brother does (and you know what he's like sometimes).
Adam, Luke S and Luke A are the traffic wardens,
11.36am: As per the new rules, smokers are made to dress as cigarettes and bounce on a trampoline while puffing. We're not joking
11.43am: As per the rules, Becky is in rubber ring, goggles and arm-bands as she floats around the pool. Safety first!
11.57am: Becky - the Floater - obeys the rules as she bobs in the pool
12.01pm: Reprimanded for rule-breaking, Conor and Caroline are currently painting lumps of coal white
12.07pm: Warden Luke S is already losing patience with Conor and Caroline over rule-breaking. This doesn't bode well.
12.11am: The rules dictate that Ashleigh has to dress properly for a smoke
11.31pm: the girls are spending so very long preparing their bikini looks, we're sort of willing rain for a laugh
12.35: A relieved Caz & Conor have been excused from coal painting duty. They say they'll behave from now on. We'll see
bad move wardens - the longer they are isolated you dont have to worry about them and it is YOU that the task depends on not them
12.40pm: Becky is struggling to butter her toast in her task safety suit. Frustrated would be the correct description

that's been the theme of the so called punishment this series - they don't suffer long enough imo

they are too soft with them in all ways .... bring back CH4 they knew how to run the show this lot dont have a clue
12.56pm: The novelty of the new task may be wearing off, judging by Shievonne's face as she decontaminates for the third time
off for a while now RL beckons
1.11pm: Having roly polied to the Diary Room (as per the rules), Deana's waiting patiently for the door to open.
1.22pm: Housemates are eating lunch and, as the rules dictate, are wearing appropriate, fluorescent protective clothing
1.30pm: Adam sits in silent contemplation, with his warden's megaphone stuck to his lips
1.44pm: Luke A and Caroline are in the Diary Room, looking slightly disturbed by what Big Brother's telling them
1.48pm: Conor's chuckling to himself on the sofa - he can hear Caroline's Diary Room squeals even at that distance
Day 37: Rules are made to be broken?
After yesterday's relief at Turf Wars drawing to a close, it's all change again in the Big Brother House.
Housemates woke to find the place absolutely plastered with signage telling them how to behave. 'I love this task' said Lauren, having not even heard what the rules are. Soon Luke A, Adam and Luke S were in the Diary Room picking up the instructions (and some rather authoritative outfits) and, after getting into their fresh new outfits, were reading out the rules to their increasingly confused housemates.
There are quite a lot of rules, you see? So many rules, in fact, that the next hour saw a huge amount of bafflement as basic activities like eating, smoking and swimming were accompanied by a whole host of new health and safety procedures.
Scott and Becky struggled with the enormous tongs now required for food preparation and eating. Lauren, Ashleigh and Shievonne spent a smoke break bouncing on a trampoline, as dictated by the rules, before washing down in a compulsory, post-cig decontamination session. Later, Becky and Caroline enjoyed a dip in the pool but, safety first, they donned rubber rings, goggles and arm-bands to make sure there was no danger of drowning.
At first, housemates were loving the novelty of a whole new way of living. But as things stand, having decontaminated several times each and struggled to make food in a kitchen that's wrapped in red tape, the cracks are beginning to show. Especially for those who have already broken the rules. Step forward Conor and Caroline, who were made to paint lumps of coal white for a number of missteps â including some petty vandalism that instantly undermined the scowling wardens.
They do say rules are made to be broken but, the way things are going, it may be the housemates that are broken by the time the results for this one come in.
2.00pm: Caroline emerges from the Diary Room looking broken. Conor sensitively whoops at the hilarity.
2.11pm: Another rule-break from Conor (toast-based) and he turns the air blue with frustration
2.19pm: Adam, Luke S and Conor are talking about big boys' matters. We couldn't possibly go there.
2.30pm: Most HMs are sunbathing or resting but Luke S is wandering with clipboard and megaphone. He's keen
2.34pm: Adam, Luke S and Conor have moved on to an underwear discussion. Adam prefers baggy undies, the others prefer tighties.
2.45pm: Scott, Caroline and Sara have collapsed from exhaustion in the corner of the bedroom
2.52pm: Lauren's amused by the weekly shopping task.
'Good work, task team. Good work' she declares.
3.09pm: Lauren's wandering around in bikini top and fluorescent lemon overalls. It's a good look.
3.22pm: Luke S is in the Diary Room looking decidedly non-plussed. Perhaps he's unimpressed by those who rank lower than warden.
A Copy of Erin's post from another thread
In order to teach housemates the importance of obeying Big Brothers rules, for this weekâs shopping task, Big Brother has introduced some new rules to the Big Brother House.
Three housemates will be made wardens, their task is to monitor whether or not housemates break these rules.
Task
It will be up to the wardens whether or not the Housemates pass this task. They must spot and correctly identify all rule breaks over the next two days.
The wardens will incur fails if they do not spot the rule breaks. They can also incur fails for handing out tickets unfairly.
The number of fails that the wardens are allowed to incur is inside an envelope in a glass case. This will be broken open to reveal the result at the end of the task. Whenever the wardens spot a Housemate breaking a rule, they must issue that Housemate with a ticket.
Any housemate that has been issued with two tickets will result in that housemate being sent to the punishment area.
Big Brother will reveal at the end of the task how many fails have been incurred.
The following rules are ongoing rules that the Housemates must abide by all day:
In the House:
· Seat belts must be worn on the sofas
· Safety gear must be worn whilst eating and preparing food. Housemates must wear yellow chemical suits, black rubber gloves, safety goggles, and black and yellow wellies.
· Housemates must eat using safety equipment: grabbing tools.
· Housemates will only be allowed on the matted area leading to the Diary Room door if they forward roll.
· Do Not Disrespect The Wardens: the wardens must judge whether or not the housemates are treating them with respect.
· Beds are out of bounds â To stop the HMâs lying around in bed all day the bed will be cordoned off and made out of bounds.
Garden:
· Safe Zone â All housemates must be within the safe zone when the alarm sounds. The safe zone is a platform just big enough to stand nine housemates.
· Decontaminator â Housemates must âdecontaminateâ after smoking or eating in a booth that blast housemates with foam and smoke.
· Smoking Zone â Housemates must bounce on trampolines whilst smoking, dressed as giant cigarettes.
· Safety equipment must be worn whilst swimming- If housemates wish to use the pool they must wear a life jacket, arm bands, rubber ring, swim hat and goggles.
· Punishment Zone â housemates who are given two or more tickets by the wardens will be sent to the punishment zone to paint coal white, and then paint it black again.
· No Ball Games: A sign will be next to a big pile of balls.
Day 1: Diary Room Tasks:
Big Brother asks one warden to accompany one housemate to the diary room. Inside the diary room they find a sign saying âdo not ask questionsâ and âobey Big Brotherâ. On the table in front of the chair there are three mystery boxes. The boxes each contain a missing microphone battery which Big Brother would like the Housemate to find. The boxes contain: · Dried insects/bugs, holly leaves and spider webbing · Tinned Lychees, Stinky Tofu and Slime · Chicken Feet and Slime
If housemates ask any questions in the diary room or refuse to do as Big Brother says they will be given a ticket by the warden.
Housemates must not say yes or no in the Diary Room
Big Brother asks one warden to accompany one housemate to the diary room.
Inside the diary room they will find a sign saying âdo not say yes or noâ and âdo not repeat yourselfâ.
Big Brother then bombards the housemate with questions that are tricky to not say yes or no to, e.g.:
Are you enjoying this task?
Would you like to be evicted?
Do you wish you were a warden?
What is the opposite of Yes?
Did you just say no?
Shievonne Sandwich board
Shievonne is called to the diary room and given a sandwich board to wear which says:
âI must not talk with my handsâ
Employee of the week
As an added incentive to hand out tickets and punish the housemates, the wardens are offered the chance to win the âEmployee of the Weekâ award. The warden who hands out the most tickets on day one will get their photo in a special frame, and receive a ÂĢ30 shopping voucher to spend on whatever they want.
The task will be active from Wake Up and will continue until tomorrow.

3.32pm: Conor is squeaking through Luke A's megaphone and it's hurting our heads.
3.49pm: Smoker Sara's being eased into her smoking jacket before she sets foot on the trampoline. Addiction knows no humiliation.
4.00pm: Luke S is on the phone to BB, reporting on rule-breakers. He says Deana and Caroline are naughtiest
Thanks for all the updates Mrs. H. I don't know how we'd keep up with all the extra info that's not shown on HL's without you and all the other LUTers, you're all brill The new task is interesting, I wonder who'll benefit the most, the Wardens or other HM's

thanks rose
the result of the task is all down to the Wardens having done their job right
all these rule breaks by the others are ok as long as the wardens notice and do what they have to along the way
4.09pm: Sara, Lauren and Ashleigh paint coal in the garden. If you've just logged into Twitter, this will make no sense at all
I'm hoping Luke A and Adam get it right so they aren't punished. I'm not bothered if Luke S is lol
4.19pm: Becky and Scott are in a bit of a grump about the task and are strutting around the bedroom, scowling.
Employee of the week

this is why Luke S is so keen - he wants that ÂĢ30 to spend on protein shake
