1.29am: Luke A and Adam are chatting about culture from before Lauren's time. "You're showing your age," she says. The cheek.

1.42am: All the HM's are in bed, apart from Lauren, Luke A and Adam who are chatting away into the night.

2.02am: As we say goodnight, silence reigns in the House. Most HMs are in bed and so should you be. It's late!

Day 34: A time for reflection

It must have been hard for our pampered housemates this week, having to struggle without life's necessities - a week without hairdryers? The horror! Lucky for them, they're safe in the knowledge that the task is coming to an end and the house will soon be reinstated to its glorious whole state. Now they can see the light at the end of the tunnel, some of the housemates have started to reflect on the experience and how it may have changed them as people.

"I've realised I take things for granted" Lauren mused. "I've realised that I don't need a bacon roll every day". You see this task wasn't all about winning territory - for some, it was also a spiritual journey.

Adam and Luke A have taken the positives out of the food rations, agreeing that a basic budget isn't so bad after all - compared to a diet of raw cabbage and anchovies.

"Branflakes and cornflakes. F**k yeah," Adam exclaimed. Now that's what we're talking about, that's a great big dose of positive mental attitude, born out of adversity.

However, it must be noted that this task has meant bigger sacrifices for some more than others. Just think about poor Lushleigh – our modern day version of Romeo and Juliet. Big Brother has separated them in their prime!

How will they react when they are finally reunited? We can picture the scene now, but we're really trying not to

Week 5 round-up

Week 5 started and ended slowly, but had enough drama in between to power a West End revival of Fame.

Monday â€“ known in our part of the world as ‘Nomination Day’ – took a bit of time to get going. Housemates acted with caution, fearful that any wrong move would cause nominations to rain down upon them.  For Arron, Becky, Conor and Deana it was too late for a PR campaign. These four found themselves up for eviction. For Deana and Arron, it was the second time this series.

With the Diary Room deeds done, the claws we know and love had a bit of an outing, most memorably during the Scott-Arron "Rapscallion" altercation.  Write that word in your phone, we beg you.

Tuesday marked the beginning of â€˜Turf Wars’, an epic, week-long battle to dominate the House. BB divided housemates into a Blue team and a Green team. For a handy visual reminder of who’s on what team, we present an infographic. The first task up was 'Trolley Wars' which the Greenies wonearning them the kitchen and putting the Blues on basic survivial rations. However, a leveller was in the works as the Blues secured victory in the 'Sofa Hoppers' task winning that snugly area, the sofas.

Honours may have been even task-wise but there was no honour in Deana’s choice of venting buddy. She had a fat chat with Becky. C’mon Dee, use your loaf.

Wednesday was coloured Green as the team comprised of Arron, Adam, Luke S, Deana, Becky and Scott won the bathroom after the Blues forfeited â€˜Duck Off’. They proceeded to also storm the â€˜You Snooze You Lose’ task. This meant they got the bedroom. The poor Blues were relegated to showering in the garden and bedding down on the floor of the large task room.

Back in the main bedroom, Luke S looked discovered an urge to rap... and a chin-face. What more odd habits he has up his sleeve? We’re on the edge of our seat waiting to find out.

The day ended with Lauren and Adam talking long into the night - is something more than a friendship emerging? Adam seems to think so, but we won't believe it until we see the cold hard truth.

Thursday was a grouchy old day. Luke A and Lauren argued,Becky and Arron argued and Deana revealed her spidey senses.

The afternoon saw anew ‘Turf Wars’ task, â€˜Bail Out’, happening in the swimming pool for the swimming pool. The Blues won which was a relief as their morale, as well as their clothes, would have been dampened by yet another loss.

This victory was responsible for the caper that would come to make a bigger splash than its key player could ever had anticipated. Arron’s eyes went as green as his singlet at the antics the Blues were having in their pool. With not a thought for the consequences he bombed into the off-limits turf, making waves among his team-mates. Big Brother piped up to let housemates know a severe punishment was pending.  Not one to draw a line under errors, Arron hulked out big-time, ripping off his top to reveal a striking chest message.

Friday was a judgement day in more ways than one. Big Brother’s pending punishment was dropped and boy was it a big ‘un. The Greens were forfeited the bathroom and the kitchen meaning it was basic rations and outdoor shower time. Adam reacted by dropping his own personal bad news recipe on Arron and even Luke S kicked off a bit.

Lushleigh were penalised for cannodling across the Green-Blue divide and Luke S’s playful/strange side came out withan impression of a mountain-back gorilla. Whatever gets you through the day, chuck.

Inevitable o’clock came and Arron went as the public had given him the least votes. They had given Deana the most votes. Her cry of, “Good has finally triumphed over evil” echoed off the Diary Room walls. She’s been saved from eviction twice which could have interesting repercussions for her confidence levels. We’re waiting and hoping for her to bloom like a flower. If she needs watering, she should have swung by Conor who wept bitter tears at his best mate’s departure. Whoever said boy’s don’t cry?

While emotions ran high, Luke A and Lauren stayed cool, devising a plot to help their fellow Insider Adam by failing the Diary Room task.

Saturday, the weekend! But every day’s a holiday in the Big Brother House, although granted a strange sort of holiday full of irritating in-laws. It also turned out to be a smelly holiday... For the â€˜Breathalyser’ task, housemates had to blind inhale whiffy foods and correctly guess their names. Shievonne’s face was contorted in displeasure. She had extra reason to be disappointed for it was her birthday.

The Blues won which cut the birthday girl a break. Her team gained access to a secret room which – coupled withAshleigh’s mini task win â€“ brought Shiev a cake, a message from her nieces and a room full of delightful treats. We hope she really enjoyed the above for Big Brother is like the Lord who giveth with one hand and taketh away with the other.

In arguably the harshest task of the series, the Blues picked a Green to answer loaded questions in the Diary Room while they watched on. An Audience with Adam put the kybosh on Shiev’s birthday fun while also turning Adam into, in his words, â€œPublic Enemy Number One.”

The ramifications of this task carried well into Sunday. Adam and Shievonne locked horns while an interesting selection of housemates came to his defence.

The final ‘Turf Wars’ task for the Diary Room was an interesting one. After much noble plotting from Luke A to deliberately lose to save his mate Adam (He and Lauren correctly guessed that the winners of this task would be immune from nominations) he threw his all into winning. Um, congrats? In an interesting twist of fate his Blue Team ended up forfeiting the win for a rule break so the Greens and Adam won. Um, well done?

The Blue Team had also broken the rules and therefore lost the pool. Seeing as today was all grim and rainy, no one really minded.

And no one really minded much for the rest of the day. Lounging, lingering and lightly chatting were the order of Sunday night. Everyone’s looking forward to the end of ‘Turf Wars and they all seized the opportunity for down time, restocking their energy reserves in order to do this all over again this week. Let the games begin (again)!

Morning all

nomination day again and only 5 nominating  this week .........  interesting and exciting as to how wisely they use these few noms

8.21am: Deana is awake but all other housemates are fast asleep. Maybe she has somethng on her mind

8.49am: No sign of movement in the House. Deana has gone back to sleep

9.19am: Housemates still snoozing

9.35am: The lights are on but only Luke S is up. Lazy housemates. Big Brother might need to sound the alarm

9.43am: And there's the alarm. Caroline, Becky and Shievonne are showing no signs of shifting

9.52am: There's the wake-up alarm again. Do these housemates really want to feel Big Brother's wrath?

MrsH

11.51am: Lots of general (allowable) noms talk this morning, predicably. Lauren, Adam & Luke A are a-pondering fates in the garden

11.55am: "What's the mood like in the boudoir?" asks Luke A. "Weird. They're weird," answers Adam, some what affectionately

12pm: "I'm definitely giving up smoking," says Ashleigh, just moments before lighting up. Luke S looks on disapprovingly

12.14pm: Scott has just nominated. He was distraught but it didn't last.

Day 35: The nomination game

After saying goodbye to Arron on Friday, the housemates are preparing to pick the next possible evictee. Following five weeks of nominations, they now have 12 to choose from. While we wait for them to make their minds up, we have taken a look back at how nominations have panned out in the past.

Deana has topped the nominations chart with a whopping 17 housemate votes to date. She was the first to nominate, picking Victoria and Lydia seconds after meeting them as part of Big Brother's secret task. She has had at least one nomination a week since then and, like Arron and Lydia, has been up for eviction twice.

She screamed with delight when she escaped eviction again on Friday. Will she be screeching with joy or yelling from frustration when she hears who is up for eviction this week?

Lauren is the second most nominated housemate with 12 notches in the last four weeks, followed closely by Luke S. Unlike Lauren, Luke S has never been up for eviction. Lauren beat Benedict in the public vote in Week 3.

Becky and Conor are the only other two housemates who have been up for eviction remaining in the House. Conor is pretty convinced he will be up again this week. Time will tell.

Ashleigh has had the least nominations – just two so far – both from Adam. In Week 2 he chose her because he felt she "did nothing for the House except drink and laugh."

Scott has only received three housemate votes, as has Shievonne, and Sara and Adam are tied with four a piece.

Who will be up today? The Turf Wars task divided the House and split cosy couplings. By mixing up friendship groups, Big Brother has started to create new alliances and enemies.

Conor, Luke A and Lauren have already managed a nominations chat slip-up this morning. Will Big Brother be punishing them on this occasion?

With just the Greens able to nominate, will they be trying to boot out rival Blues or trimming the fat within their own ranks?

Day 35: The smoke off

Breaking news – Ashleigh is quitting the cigs.

Firmly established as part of the smoking crew, she made the announcement this morning.

Ally Shievonne will apparently be giving up too and Sara who claims doesn’t actually smoke outside the House decided to have her last ciggy this morning.  Sara appears to have already forgotten her promise but will Ashleigh hold out?

With at least one tiff a day revolving around cigarettes, we should see a more harmonious House, shouldn’t we?

Lauren couldn’t believe it – she and Ashleigh fell out over fags when Lauren accused her of not being a proper smoker.  With three puffers out of the picture she’ll have a lot less to moan about.

Luke S has made it very clear he hates Ashleigh’s filthy habit. Has their enforced separation acted as a catalyst for her big decision?

When quizzed by Lauren and Luke A, Ashleigh revealed a bad dream about black lungs had prompted her decision but she may still have one or two when she drinks alcohol.

Well she certainly wasn’t drinking over breakfast but within five minutes of putting her plan out there, she had lit her first fag of the day.

One for the road perhaps. Is there any chance she will demonstrate a little more commitment to her cause for the rest of her time in the House? Or at least until the end of the day.
