Day 29: Round-up

Day 29 saw Turf Wars break out across the Big Brother House at the command of the ever-present BB.

After Day 28's post nominations rumble, the day began wearily with everyone a little confused about where they stand in the group. Sara was embarrassed about crying, Caroline didn't know who her friends were any more and everyone moped along (after a considerable lie-in), mentally preparing for the weekly shopping task, which didn't take long to arrive.

Housemates were commanded to join their best friend in the House to form a pair, which they did accordingly, little knowing that they'd soon be a House explicitly split in two, with one half of each pair separately going off to join the Blue Team or the Green Team. Various tasks would give housemates in the winning team dominion over different parts of the House, with the losing team plunged into the economy version of whatever that living space happened to be.

For control of the kitchen, the Trolley Dash saw the Blue Team face the Green Team in a tug-o-war with a difference. Competitors were harnessed together and had to push a trolley towards shopping items and bag up a win, one-on-one. The greens took the victory, with their prize being the exclusive use of a bright green kitchen, while the losers experienced their first taste of a more meagre budget. Preparations then began for the day's second task.

Sofa Hoppers involved housemates rating themselves according to different categories, from 'most keen to win' all the way to 'most annoying'. Shievonne headed up for the Blues, while Luke S stepped up for the Greens. The Blues took the prize and they now have sole access to the Living Area.

After the tasks, as housemates settled in for a quiet evening, the old divisions reared their heads, as The Insiders ranted in the bathroom (with hangers on), while The Outsiders locked down in the smoking area, joined by Becky.

Before bed, there was just time for a minor quibble between Deana and Becky, who had a low key falling out over Deana's vocalised body issues. While Becky let off steam in the Diary Room, Luke A, Lauren and Adam chatted in the garden and Deana had a soak to wash away another slightly awkward day in the Big Brother House. Turf Wars begin again tomorrow in earnest.

10.08am: Caroline can't find her mascara. Perhaps she should think about tidying her bit of the bedroom

Day 30: Deana and Adam have it out

No wonder housemates are so bleary eyed and bedraggled this morning, they didn’t turn in until gone 3am.

Things got heated by the hot tub in the early hours as Adam and Deana fell out over food – and cleaning.

A few home truths emerged during the sofa hopping taskprompting Deana to ask Adam if he thought she was lazy. When he didn’t give her a direct answer she goaded him further causing him to tell her exactly what he thought of her domestic contributions to the House.

Adam accused Deana of shirking her duties when it came to cleaning the filthy bathroom earlier in the week and Deana said she had planned to help but wanted to finish her lunch first.

She said, "You are always trying to pick apart things I am saying. If anyone else wanted to finish their dinner first it would be fine."

Adam replied, "It wouldn’t."

After a good half hour of arguing Adam went inside and Deana stroppily said, "I’m washing the cups. Write that down in your little black book. I’m washing the cups."

With the kitchen currently belonging to the greens she should get plenty of opportunities to demonstrate just how much of a domestic goddess she can be.

Housemates have short memories when it comes to the recently evicted but long ones it seems where cleaning the toilet is concerned.

Day 30: A House at war

With the kitchen out of bounds to the Blues and the living room off limits to the Greens, the strain is starting to show.

Shievonne (Blue) said she could not understand how much entertainment Big Brother expected to get from a seven day task. We can help her out there – plenty.

She and Lauren have been lamenting the loss of coffee with their emergency rations.

Lauren said, “I can’t even go into the living room because they (the Greens) are in the kitchen cooking. We should strike. What’s the worst Big Brother will do? Turn off the hot water? Everything else will be taken anyway.”

Caroline is uncharacteristically upbeat about the situation. She said, “I’d rather have this room than the kitchen. We get food in the sitting room, it’s just like being at home.”

Becky is fretting about eviction night and said she would refuse to leave the House in her Green team uniform. Sara said she wouldn’t have a problem greeting the public in hers  - great in theory but as she is not even nominated it’s pretty unlikely.

Luke A has discovered another advantage of occupying the living room, people step into it accidentally.

He said, “When Luke S brought us our batteries this morning, he came into our area. I checked with Big Brother and it’s a punishable offence.”

The Blues have decided not to tell the Greens about the slip up and as the kitchen dwellers become increasingly smug, chances of the Blues sharing anything with them are becoming increasingly unlikely.

The update is: BB later called Luke A back to the DR and told him it wasn`t a punishable offence because they (BB) had`t explained the rules properly. He`s fuming. Luke S has since reached into the blue team`s area, picked up a pillow and tossed it in the air. Will he get off with that too?

Day 30: Duck off

Arron and the Green boys have been speculating about the format of the next task concluding it will probably involve shifting buckets of water.  Nice try lads, but that doesn’t sound like much of a challenge to us.

In fact housemates will be feeling flush after the next task as they do battle for the bathroom.

They have to stick their heads down the toilet to retrieve rubber ducks submerged in gunge with their mouths.

To be victorious in the ‘Duck Off’ task, housemates must deposit 10 ducks in their coloured bathtub.

This round will be a relay race with all housemates taking part.

The loo-sers will be banned from the bathroom.

1.50pm: Caroline is whispering in the kitchen to Shiev and Ashleigh about which competitive housemates "looooove tasks"

Wonder if she included Luke S in her whisperings?

1.57pm: Caroline has revealed to her Blue teammates that she does not like the word "toilet". She prefers "loo".

Looooo

2:03pm: "They might have won the battle, but we'll win the war!" declares Caroline. She's on a roll this afternoon.

Day 30: Winners and loo-sers

She may have read out the task instructions, but that didn’t stop Caroline ignoring the rules.

In trying to prove herself not to be the Blue team’s weak-link, she tried to grab three ducks rather than one from the toilets.

Left to Caroline, the team may have won the bathroom but with the task restarted, the Greens lost no time in trouncing their rivals.

All housemates got stuck in, covering themselves with gunge in the process.

The Green team are now one-up with occupation of the kitchen and the bathroom. The Blues just have the living room but with the bedroom to play for before the end of the day, they are determined to make it two all.

Take a look at how the housemates fared in our gallery.
