BIG Brother host Brian Dowling has branded this year’s housemates the nastiest bunch he has ever known.

Fans will watch one of the final five crowned a winner tonight and walk away with a mega ÂĢ50,000 prize.

The contenders are beauty queen Deana Uppal, 23, ex-US gangster Adam Kelly, 27, sex-swap chef Luke Anderson, 31, Scots model Sara McLean, 22, and hunky night club promoter Luke Scrase, 24.

But BB presenter Brian, 34, claims if he had been stuck with the housemates, he would have walked out in disgust.

And he blasted this year’s crop of reality telly stars for not apologising for their awful behaviour.

He said: “I do believe this has been the bitchiest, nastiest and most backstabbing house we’ve ever had.

“They absolutely hate one another.

“I seriously think if I had been a housemate this year I would have walked. I couldn’t have lasted.”

This year’s Channel 5 series has been rocked by race and bullying rows which TV watchdogs Ofcom are investigating.

And Brian insisted one of the most shocking things is that none of the wannabes have apologised for their antics.

He said: “When they have come out of the house and I’ve interviewed them and shown them the footage, there is no remorse.

“I have pushed and pushed them.

“But they just go: ‘Hey, that’s me. I’m young and I’m a bitch.’

“But fair play to the producers. This lot did deliver the drama.”

Day 69 - Round up

The penultimate day in the House saw the housemates cook a last supper Sunday roast and speculate on life after BB. In the short term they are more concerned by how they will look tonight and, while Luke S is now satisfied his suit will be dry cleaned, the question of astylist to tame housemates' hair still hung in the air.

Big Brother saw fit to present our final five with a little party – cue champers and tunes.Having spent 69 days perfecting their moves, our housemates had their arms in the air, pouting and posturing through a bunch of chart classics. Even Luke S made an effort to join in.

With lips loosened by bubbly, Sara launched into a few rambling tales, including one about the Queen, before heading for bed early.

The three soldiers ended the night patting themselves on the back for their performance to date. They gave their spot in the garden some last night attentions before launching intotypical late night chat.

After a day in which no one argued, a sombre air settled over the House as the fact that this was the end of something pretty special sunk in. Today may just be another day but for Luke S, Sara, Deana, Adam and Luke A it is the day one of them walks away the winner of Big Brother 2012.

Luke A and Sara rise early for a nice long chat

As the dawn broke on the housemates' final day in the House, we were surprised to see that Luke A and Sara were both up and about before Big Brother switched on the lights. Perhaps, like kids on Christmas morning, they're just too excited to sleep.

Luke A woke earliest, reading his letter from home. Today is his first wedding anniversary, so no matter where he places in the final 5, we're sure he'll feel like a winner when reunited with his wife, Becki.

Sara got up next, briefly, washed her face, put some makeup on and...went back to sleep. Interesting behaviour. She's up and about now, in the smoking area with Luke A, making predictions for tonight's Final.

Luke A compared his excitement and stress to how he felt exactly a year ago, getting ready for his wedding, when he broke a cuff-link. Let's hope tonight goes smoothly, without any wardrobe malfunctions.

With nary a mention of the prize money, Sara and Luke A have come to the conclusion that it doesn't matter what else happens, they get to see their family and friends tonight. How heart warming.

Day 70: The final clean up

It's their last day in the Big Brother House, and what better way to spend it than by participating in a huge clean-up. Well, we do have new people moving in soon - we wouldn't want the new tennants to see the House the way it is...

To aid them in their cleaning mission, Big Brother has been pumping some upbeat dance tunes into the House, which has definiteyly got the housemates going. You can see a  few snaps of them in action by clicking on the album attached and you can see it in video form by clicking here.

P.S. Not long until the final. We're very excited, we couldn't help dropping it in!
