Day 69: And now the end is near...

In case anyone hadn’t worked it out, Luke S announced tonight’s roast dinner was, The Last Supper. For those housemates who didn’t hear him the first time, he repeated his statement a few more times. We got the message and our eyes misted over...

The five tucked into a roast dinner which head Chef Luke A had whipped up with housemates help. For a good few hours his conversation centred around ways he could have improved it if he was in his carvery at home. Resting the meat on a heel of bread was one suggestion. We say if it ain't broke...

The remaining housemates reminisced over the best of times and the worst of times and Luke A said, "I definitely didn’t think I would be part of the final five."

Sara agreed and Luke S responded with an "Uh-huh".  Sounds like he thought he’d make the finale. Sara helpfully brought him back down to Earth by saying, “I thought Conor would be here.” Ouch.

Luke A and Adam discussed the uniting qualities of a Sunday roast. Luke A said, "I never thought we’d have Sunday roast in here. I thought it would be every man for himself. Making it made me feel better."

Deana who had once again showed herself up in the cooking department said, "Why is everyone being so nice today? I guess it is because it's Sunday Funday."

It certainly is. And yes Luke S, it is the LAST Sunday Funday. Cue soft focus...

Day 69: The last waltz

Big Brother saved the last dance for our five housemates, rewarding them for their time in the House with drinks and music.

Having perfected the dancing in a circle, punching the air routine over the last 69 days, housemates freestyled it a bit tonight and added their own pouts and waves.

Deana managed an outfit change, Luke A got some more indie tunes to keep that smile on his face and Luke S put his best foot forward. Then to the side. And to the other side. You get the picture.

Deana and Luke S rounded off the dancing with a garden workout. Nothing says party time like stomach crunches in a slinky red frock.

Day 69: Adam's stay goes without a hiccup

Housemates have already compared today to Christmas Eve and like on Christmas Eve there is a sense of anticipation in the air. Said anticipation is causing certain of our finalists to behave in a silly, euphoric fashion.

Figurehead of the silly movement is cool cat Adam. He's been laughing his head off for hours now in that booming way of his that rises to a high-pitched crescendo when most tickled.

His silliest contribution of the night was delivered deadpan. When Sara emerged into the smoking area, having developed hiccups from bolting her second helping of roast, Adam claimed that he's never had hiccups as an adult.

"I'm a grown-ass man. I don't have hiccups," he announced.

"I don’t think a day's gone by when you haven't said 'I'm a grown-ass man'", said Luke S.

Damn-ass right.

The surrounding housemates then challenged Adam's ridiculous statement but he held his ground. Apparently, there are people on the outside who can verify that Adam has yet to hiccup as a man. Adam is happy for them to be contacted over Facebook after Monday.

But as the conversation tried to move on, a startled noise came out of Adam's mouth. Surely, it wasn't... a hiccup? We thought he was above such infantilism.

It turned out the Dudley dawg was just having a giggle through the medium of imitation.

"I'm just trying to fit in, y'all..."

With his hiccup record still clean, the question is will tomorrow's results go as smoothly...? Time's running out to vote for this year's Big Brother winner. Will it be Adam, or will one of the other four emerge victorious?

Day 69: Soldiering on

It's the final night. After tonight our garden will be missing its three person army but for tonight they made an effort to stay glued to their post.

Deana attempted to grab an early night, skulking off towards the bedroom, "to make tomorrow come quicker", but Adam and Luke A, soaking up their final moments in the smoking area, put a stop to that nonsense.

Sara had slipped between her sheets before midnight after enjoying a couple of nostalgic bevvies, leaving Luke S alone in the living room to mumble to himself, "and then there was one." One what? Luke in the living room. If so, fair enough.

Our three Outsiders-turned-soldiers discussed their time in the House for what was possibly not the last time – the show is far from finished.

Luke A said, "I felt sometimes I couldn't move from this spot."

Deana and Adam agreed. Deana said, "We made it in the end.  We're off duty now."

And so they are. With the battle almost over, one of our final five will have been crowned victorious by this time tomorrow. Whether or not a 'soldier' claims the prize remains to be seen.

Reading back have just seen that Scotty jnr left today for Oz? for some reason I was thinking it was a few weeks away. Scotty if he's just left I understand how emotional that will be for you from a personal experience In a few weeks, more or less, you'll adjust and will enjoy the contact with him and his gf through what I mentioned recently and get to feel a part of the experiences they'll be having. NZ is a great country and not as scary as some countries young people like to travel to these days. Will be thinking of you
