Day 54: The fantastic four

As we go into the early hours of the morning, the last four standing - Adam, Deana, Luke S and Luke A, are looking strong. No one wants to be the first one to back down, but it's inevitable that someone will have to take that first step to freedom (or failure, whichever way you look at it). Who will be the first to throw in the towel and who will be crowned King or Queen of the boxes? Who knows...

What we do know, is that it's going to be a loooooong night.

Day 54 round-up

Day 54 was the day that we learned there are certain things our housemates won’t stand for. Endurance tasks aren’t one of those things.

Before the task that dominated the day was announced, with the housemates still dealing with Caroline's departure, Deana and Sara felt they had some issues they needed to talk over, so they did just that. Talking was off the menu for Becky, who came good on her vow of silence promise from last night. She didn’t even join in when the tantalising topic of Andy Scott Lee and Lydia came up, so determined was she to keep her word.

Later on, the crowd reaction to Caroline’s eviction and the remaining housemates was discussed, with jitters all round. But there was lighter chat when our two top models, the newly re-friended Sara and Deana tried out the whole smiling-with-your-eyes thing. We think it's called 'smeyesing'. But don't quote us on that.

The task was just around the corner, and Standing On The Shoulders Of Prizes was announced in no time at all. Housemates were asked to stand on a box each, with each gift-wrapped parcel containing a gift for every one of them. What they didn't know was that Adam had been given the power to allocate prizes - so while he was standing on top of a high quality television, the likes of Luke S and Ashleigh were fighting for a coffee machine and a toilet brush respectively. Small fry.

Soon it was underway, and some lasted longer than others. Scott was amongst the early drop-outsquitting in style and sacrificing his gift. Adam was one of the longest to last. Perhaps his game of Eye Spy gave him the boost he needed. Or maybe it was the fact he was clued up on the prize situation. We were soon down to four - The Outsiders and a determined Luke S. Deana gave a speech that will surely empower all females and seemed absolutely devoted to winning this one.

The housemates who'd given up earlier in the night were treated with a takeaway, lovely drinks and even a song or two. Ashleigh took a dip and goaded the players. It seemed like it would never end.

As far as Day 54 was concerned, it didn't. By 2am the quartet were still at it, upright on their podiums, and though they were flagging they weren't backing down. If things carry on the way they are at the time of writing, they might be there until the bitter end. If they don't collapse of exhaustion first, that is.

I think LukeA may have given in before Deana   no mention of him yet today

edit

looking at the above pic - he is missing from his box - guess Adam either wanted to win or couldnt say much as it was a secret that he swapped the prize cards round

Day 55: Stepping down

It was a case of survival of the most patient last night andAdam proved himself the master.

The endurance task – ‘Standing on the Shoulders of Prizes’ -  rolled on into the early hours of the morning.

Our fortitudinous foursome â€“ Luke A, Luke S, Adam and Deana were edging toward 13 hours on the boxes in the garden when Luke S gave in. Luke A followed soon after, telling Luke S he fell off but we know otherwise – he jumped. Deana finally crumbled at 2.55am meaning Adam won the television.

Mr competitive Luke S has been telling anyone who will listen this morning that he sacrificed himself for the sake of Adam. He said, “Adam really wanted the TV. I could buy anyone of those prizes outside of the House. I just wanted to stay on longer than Luke A but I was starving. I just kept looking around and thinking I’m standing with three people I don’t like. I still think there was more to that task. It could be immunity but I think he knew what was in his box.”

He wasn’t quite so bitter last night, sleeping on his defeat seems to have soured his grapes. Deana is convinced Luke S is a robot and had to get down to reprogram.

Sara has been far more gracious, congratulating Deana on her marathon achievement.

She said, “You did really well. 13 hours. That’s longer than a full day.” Not really Sara but we appreciate the sentiment.

Day 55: A bit of a thankless task

Adam was left squirming after Big Brother revealed to the Housemates that he picked their prizes for the 'Standing on the Shoulders of Prizes' task.

He was quick to defend his selections which appeased the majority of the housemates. Adam said, "I chose the spa date for you Conor so you could take your girlfriend, I gave you the ÂĢ1000 Becky so you could take neph-noff (her nephew) away somewhere and I gave you the bike Sara because I had given Deana the gym pass."

He also explained that he didn’t realise they would actually be getting the prizes, he thought it was a 'how well do you know your housemates task'. Really?

One housemate was livid and with good reason perhaps. Adam selected the toilet brush for Ashleigh because she, "always goes on about wanting one from Big Brother."

She is giving him the silent treatment and says if Adam wants her to start speaking to him again, they will have to sit down and talk about it. Hmm.

Becky is battling her own demons. Adam’s gesture seemed to have genuinely touched her but she didn’t seem to be able to admit it out loud to Ashleigh, Sara, Conor and Luke S, instead whispering to Scott, "It was really nice of him."

What she does seem able to vocalise is her disgust that Adam ate some of the leftover Chinese that the housemates who dropped out of the task earlier had been rewarded with.

We are not sure Adam has even realised Ashleigh is ignoring him, but she seems ready to blow. How long will she last before she has it out with him?
