Day 53: Sugar highs and lows

Caroline’s shopping list certainly shook up the House last night and we expected a blow up over breakfast.

The majority of the Insiders still claim to be finding the whole thing hilarious but we have our doubts.  There is a definite tension in the air but all bar Scott seem to be canning their frustration for now, perhaps fearing any outburst will upset their eviction apple cart.

Caroline offered to make everyone breakfast almost as if a high dose of chocolate was all she needed to unlock her inner domestic goddess. However, minutes later she had just managed to prepare her own and was tucking in enthusiastically saying, "How is this not the ideal situation?"

Luke S took advantage of the influx of sweet ingredients to bond with Ashleigh over a bit of baking. Conor’s choccy birthday chocolate is bound to be a hit.

Speaking of Conor, he found a slice of ham at the back of the fridge – we expect to see that used as some kind of bargaining tool later, kicking cigarettes off the top spot as in House currency. He also revealed he has a secret tin of tuna for tonight. Sweet.

Luke A gave Caroline the cold shoulder in the kitchen before heading out for a bitch with Adam who is also sulking. Scott joined them and briefly shared his dislike of Caroline’s antagonostic shopping list before scuttling back to the Insiders, causing Adam to observe, "He doesn’t want to be seen with us."

Housemates should be on a serious sugar high by tonight’s eviction show. There’s still time to save your fave.

Day 53: Lies on the prize

As it's Conor’s birthday, Big Brother is giving him the chance to win himself a party. To win it, all he has to do is lie to his housemates for an hour.

Bit on the Side's Alice Levine invented the task and Big Brother has taken the baton and provided five fiendish falsehoods that Conor must slip into conversation.

Big Brother's extraordinary whoppers are:

I once won a talent show with my comedy version of Riverdance.

I plan to move to Hollywood to be an action hero.

I once spent a summer working as a male escort.

I once beat Bono from U2 at arm wrestling.

The song Come On Eileen, by Dexy’s Midnight Runners, was written about my auntie Eileen.

Conor must also spout lies generated by his own flair for nonsense.

If Big Brother is suitably impressed with his tall tales, Conor will be rewarded with a footie-themed birthday party in the garden. Housemates will be provided with a mini football pitch and football strips for a five-a-side game.

Conor has yet to discover his secret task and is innocently telling the truth, left, right and centre. Although in a piece of foreshadowing that suggests psychic abilities, he has been discussing talent shows with Luke S.

Breaking news: Conor has been called to the Diary Room. Stay tuned to see how adept he is at slipping ridiculous statements into casual conversation.

Day 53: The lying game

He can talk the hind legs off a donkey but could Conor feed fellow housemates a bucket load of blarney to score himself a footie-themed birthday party.

As part of Big Brother’s secret task, Conor had to lie his way through one hour, slipping in five pre-set porkies and shoehorning in a few of his own.

Conor hit the ground running, fibbing from the off by telling Luke S he had been called to the Diary Room for a telling off.

Humming C’mon Eileen (the subject of BB lie number one) he struggled to find a way to throw into conversation the ‘fact’ the song was about his aunt.

Scott had never heard of the band so he didn’t need much convincing but Luke s was doubtful finally saying, “That’s a pretty good story if it’s true.”

Conor sprinkled in a few more porky pies before dropping in the claim that he once won a talent contest for a comedy performance of Riverdance.

Sara was paying the bare amount of attention and responded with an ‘uh-huh’ before launching into a tale about her experiences as Miss Edinburgh.

Visibly starting to enjoy the task, Conor challenged Becky to an arm wrestle which allowed him to drop the Bono-bomb. Becky didn’t believe a word of it but was far too distracted attempting to defeat the C-man. He repeated it a few more times for good measure finally getting Scott who’d strolled up to test his own strength, to say, “Oh my god.” I think that means he believed him.

Becky proved a tough nut to crack with his fourth fib, the one where he wanted to be a Hollywood action hero after BB. She said, Shut the f**k up. That’s as delusional as Caroline thinking everyone finds her funny.”

Conor freestyled it with a whopper for Caroline, telling her Big Brother had called him into the Diary Room to let him know he had been saved from eviction.

She exclaimed, “I’m so happy for you –I knew you would be saved. That means you’ve had the most votes.” Gullible.

Conor’s final lie was such a biggun, Ashleigh was still whispering about it an hour later. He said, “I was a male escort. I was in the tattoo parlour and I was approached to do it. I did it for a whole summer and made 10 and a half grand.”

Scott was fascinated admitting he would quite like to be a gay escort providing all he had to do was go out for dinner. Conor hinted he’d gone all the way with his clients which is why Ashleigh was so spun out. Neither doubted him for a second.

The task is over but Conor is yet to hear whether he’ll be celebrating his with a kick-a-bout or if his birthday will instead be dominated by the build-up to tonight’s eviction.

Day 53: No more dress distress

While other nominated housemates fret about whether they're going or not, Caroline's prime concern is what she's going to wear tonight. But Big Brother via a loyal chum on the outside has delivered a sparkly and elegant answer. Don't ever say we don't understand the ladies.

Caz still looks great but it's no state secret that she's gained a little weight in the House. Her expansion has caused Ms Wharram no end of displeasure, not to mention griping. As she tried on different outfits never removing her sad face, Big Brother intervened, calling her to the Diary Room.

One exchange of goods later and Caroline was a happy camper. She came bounding back into the bedroom clutching a sleek little number, a gift from a kind-hearted friend admitted into the House by a kind-hearted Big brother.

"What size is it?" asked Luke S untactfully.

"I don't know," said Caroline refusing to feel bad, "I don't want to know."

"I think it's because I gained loads of weight and they felt sorry to me," she added with a smirk.

Becky, who has been grating on Caroline by yelling at her, like an army cadet about the importance not being deluded about her size, added another unhelpful remark.

"I love it Caz, your boobs look so big," she exclaimed.

The housemates may not know how to treat a lady but at least Big Brother does.

Will Caroline be wearing her frock in the outside world tonight? Or will one of the other seven nominated housemates be leaving the BB House instead? Vote here to save your fave.

Day 53: Get your chocs off

The chocolate has finally hit the fan after housemates could contain their frustration about Caroline’s shopping list no longer.

Sara and Becky had a good bitch about the food situation with Sara saying, “No one is going to eat all of that. Does chocolate go off?”

Becky assured her it didn't but agreed Caroline had done a stupid thing. She said, “If she wanted to upset Luke A and Adam, why didn’t she just not get their cigarettes?”

Unfortunately Caroline heard every word they said through the bedroom door and was fuming.

She wailed to Conor that Becky has been winding up all day, commenting on her hair and clothes.

Becky asked her, “Why is your face so sulky,” prompting Caroline to storm off saying she was off for a nap.

As one of the most notorious gossips, it could be said that Caroline deserved a taste of her own medicine but it’s not nice for anyone to overhear a character assassination. It is becoming clear Caroline’s prank is back-firing. If she stays tonight will she be able to swallow a week of sweet treats?

Becky has proven herself unable to tolerate a cheese face for long. Will she be able to laugh off this latest incident?
