Best time of year for the Caribbean. Costs a fortune there over Christmas though. Frowner
If with friends and family, how about Florida? Weather can be iffy, but loads of things for kids.

Thailand is lovely at that time of year and is still a good deal money wise. Carribien is very expensive that time of year, high season.

I would head out to Asia, great weather, nice people and still pretty cheap all around. Have a great time whatever you decide.

Never thought about thailand.
Dont want to go were there is all the old men though ( get my drift).
Can you recomend any were to look at.

Yes, definatly. I have gone there often and I love it so I would suggest you fly into Bangkok, spend 3-4 days there, then head on to the beaches of Puket and or Krabi, you will have a great time there, can go diving and snorkeling in Phi Phi islands, then head on to Chinag Mai and or Chiang Rai, both places worth visiting, Air Asia is dead cheap, just book in advance. Hua Hin is also great.
If you book now, you should get very good prices, I usually use expedia for the flights (get a night flight and the trip will fly by) and hotels.com for the accomadation. Prices are highest in Bangkok but still much better then in the USA or in Europe but you will get great hotels at good prices in the rest of the places. One brilliant thing I did in Chiang Rai, we went to an elephant school. So great, got to spend two days with them, learning how to feed them, clean them and how to control them. Best thing ever. It is in the Golden circle, you can see Burma and Laos from there if I remember correctly. Just a lovely place.

Check it out and if I can help you at all, I would be happy to do so, I know you will get a great trip with minimum cost there.

Oh, and definatly dont get put off with the old pervy thing, if you dont go into those areas you will never see anything like that at all. Honestly, it is everywhere in the world if you look for it and Thailand has a bad rep unfortunatly, it is has so much to offer and is so stunning, it is sad if people always think of the country in those terms.

Carribean is ace but as said is one of the most popular times.

They have wet and dry seasons both have their plus and minus but will be nice and hot. Best to go when its cheaper IMO.

God willing. I'm off to your very own markets this year. Nod

Very nice. We have one in Plymouth, but it's not quite the same, although I shouldn't grumble, at least it gives me that Christmas feeling I remember from my childhood. Smiler
