But it was a gathering and it was unreally immense.
I think I'd properly hyperventilate. Properly.
I forgot Grace Slick.
Has anyone mentioned The Boss yet?

According to some of my friends, I do a very good impression of her singing this....feed your head.....
Oh Sarum I love Bruce
Noticed a few Smiths mentions (my joint fave band of all time) so I thought I'd link people to this video on YouTube...some fabulous rare pics of them in their prime. )Morrissey was sooooooo gorgeous). (Never linked this way so don't know if it'll work)
subatomicpartygirl, I thought of this tune when Mozzer threw a whitey last week...on their hands at last a dead star/ the sycophantic slags all say/ I knew him first and I knew him well/ Best of/ most of/ satiate the need. Curse me for my thoughts
And, yes, Morrissey was gorgeous, but I always preferred Johnny Marr
I always preferred guitarists, and maybe drummers a bit
I can't see any Youtube no mo.
Ah! It's back. What happened Muskie?

I did too, Fracas! I was thinking...how prophetic. (It's my second favourite Smiths, btw..first being "What Difference...") Johnny Marr didn't and still doesn't get the credit he deserves as an artist.
The Unthanks, on Jools...I love them!!
Loved this
He was gorgeous!!

Eh? Meester Marr is revered. One of the most original guitarists of the past 30 years.
Heard him chatting on the radio a few days ago. Still immensely cool.
Boston. Brad Delp. Best singer, ever. R.I.P. Brad.
I'll go with "More than a feeling" as sung by Brad as the best song ever.

When you reply, click the thing that looks like a couple of frames of film (to the right of the smiley button), and paste your youtube link into the dialog box, then hit insert. Voila!

He's not by the general public. Ask around; only a fraction (largely aficonados of that genre) will have even heard of him yet, IMO, he outshines many 'guitar heroes'.
never heard off him subbie, although the names that are usually bandied about, are clapton ,van halen, santana, that bloke from queen, may?
That's the impression I have too, Jackson.

Johnny Marr is possibly the best practical guitarist of all times. He came up with some marvellous tunes to complement Morissey's lyrics. I like Clapton, Van Halen was allegedly good at upsetting and then being punched by English roadies, and Santana formulaic with a secret chord progression. I don't think you can beat Hendrix, and Zappa was better than any of the above. For sheer widdly twiddly twiddly, make sex face, and then come all over the audience, it has to be light blue haired, Stevie Vai.
There is a prog at the moment on Sky Arts, some sort of aniversary of the Fender strat, a bit hit and miss, but there isn't much else on.
Great tune, great vid
