Female...... I don't think that there has been anyone to touch Grace Slick and Janis Joplin.
Male........ Paul Rogers, oddly enoughTom Jones, he should have fronted a proper band instead of appearing on tat like the Cilla Black show. Frank Sinatra, lousy singer, excellent timing.
Bands...... Caravan. Jeffersons, VDGG, King Crimson. Radiohead
Musicians....... Zappa, Hendrix, Miles Davis, Eric Dolphy.

Music doesn't seem to be a big deal nowadays, it's all pantomime.
