This is a companion to the worst bands ever really.
Best for me without a doubt is UB40, nealy 30 years together and still producing great music, sadly Ali Campbell had to leave though.
Others for me include the Beatles, U2, though I think Bono is a prat, they have produced some great music over the years, Joy Division, Pet Shop Boys, who manage to reinvent themselves so well and T Rex, probably many others but can't think of any at the moment, oh and Abba as well
Singers include Bowie, not keen on the Stones but Jagger's voice, Freddie Mercury, George Michael, Michael Jackson the early stuff up to Bad, Nat King Cole, I'm even beginning to enjoy Frank Sinatra, must be getting old and the great female jazz singers like Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday and even though she wasn't a jazz singer the incomparable Karen Carpenter.
More modern day female singers would include Annie Lennox and Alison Moyet.
Have to say that I'm not keen on a lot of the current stuff, but Leona Lewis isn't too bad and I like Snow Patrol, well I love "Chasing Cars"
