considering the weather, that's probably a good thing.

I have, when very much younger, stood in the stands when it was snowing heavens hard and they just scraped the snow off the various pitch lines and used an orange ball It wouldn't happen nowadays

Moonie

Good morning everyone, they really are suffering on the Somerset levels.  They were saying on the news yesterday that the water level will not drop until at least the end of February, no ambulances or fire engines can reach them, they must live in terror of a real emergency.  I can't image how hard life has been for them, lots of people have simply moved out altogether.

Have a good day with the wee one today Yogi.  I hope Mr Summer is feeling brighter and that Bramble is feeling more like her old self today.

Have a great day everyone

squiggle

Good morning everyone. Weather is awful - heavy rain, windy and dark.

Good job we have PB to brighten our day! Having had some toast and juice, she is now having a nap.

I saw the footage on Breakfast News about the people living at the Somerset levels.

Summer, I hope Mr Summer feels better today, and Bramble is more like herself.

Moonie, I love last night's owl pics.

Love to Skylark.

See you later, have a good day.

I wouldn't be surprised if some of the communities at the Somerset Levels are evacuated as there is no sign that the weather will improve in the near future. I think the record for the wettest January for England has already been broken and by the end of the month won't be far off from being the wettest ever month.

Today so far is quite a pleasant day weather-wise in my area, but tomorrow morning looks really horrible.

El Loro

Good afternoon everyone

At 2-30 this morning we had a 'pea-souper' here The field at the bottom of the garden was almost invisible Its all gone now and we have had sunshine but its clouding over as I type but i'm done shopping for the weekend so hopefully I wont need to go out again

Have a great Saturday and will see you later

Moonie

Flying visit. Middle and youngest sons are visiting, and entertaining PB.

Their OHs are coming up later and they are all staying for dinner. You won't be surprised to hear we are having haggis, tatties and neeps, in honour of Rabbie.

Squiggle, I love the story of the little girl being reunited with her favourite toy.

Will be back later.

Yogi,
I hope you are getting well and truly 'cuddles topped up'

Have a great evening with the family and will see you later, full in tummy and cuddles

*wonders what neeps are*

I have several decades of living in the sticks. Whereas t'Grauniad hacks have had several decades living in the killer smog.

 Never heard of Mangles.

Moonie, neeps are turnips and a must have with haggis and potatoes.

When we lived up near Peterhead, many years ago, the children made their Hallowe'en lanterns out of turnips, not pumpkins, and they were known as neepy lanterns.

The definitive answer, fankoo
Are you still minding PB?

Moonie

PB was in great form today. She now has two teeth, which she keeps rubbing her tongue over and sticking it out. She now ' dances' when she hears music - more of a chair bop (or what we might call a shoogle up here) and she shakes her head from side to side. It is too cute!

Got lots of cuddles, as did her grandad, and both uncles and both aunties.

Yes, we were minding Harv, the labrador, as well as PB, so Keira had her pal to play with.
