If I'd have picked Baz, I'd have got her a giraffe patterned cushion for the step
That would have gone down like a lead filled balloon Hagatha

Awwww that's great news Sweet. Well done to you what a gem you are
Awww, goodnight Sweet. Sleep well and have a happy tomorrow. Sweet dreams
Yogi, I'm glad your back is better than it has been
Sorry El, I missed this post last night. Thank you.
Good morning everyone. The wind has died down and the rain has stopped, for now.
Well done on persuading your mum and brother to spend Christmas together, Summer. Sometimes people just need a wee push in the right direction.
My internet is still playing up, I had to reset it a couple of times before I could get a connection. If I seem to 'disappear', you'll know why.
Moonie, the snow owls are stunning.
Have a good day, everyone.
Good morning everyone
Yogi, I hope your internet connection behaves itself, we don't want you disappearing.
I'm off to do my shopping. It's already raining and is going to be heavy for the rest of the day and overnight so there will be widespread flooding on the roads. So I thought I would get it over with whilst I can.
My brother is due to travel here tomorrow morning but he is likely to experience delays with train services being affected.
Good morning everyone, awful weather here as it is for most of us. I hope you are all managing to battle through >>>
Well done Summer on sorting out your mum and brother, I hope they have a lovely Christmas together. Oh no Yogi the last thing you want is internet problems, I think a selection box with a bow is perfect, then they get to the treats quicker
My grocery delivery is due soon and then this afternoon I am going out with my daughter to pick up 2 chickens hopefully from Tesco, they seem to do larger ones than Sainsburys.
Have a good day everyone.
I'm back from my shopping I think quite a lot of people had the same idea as me and M&S was busy though they had organised it so that no-one had to wait too long at the check out. It's so overcast that it's as dark as it can get in the daytime.
Well done on getting your shopping done so early, El.
Squiggle, I hope you get the size of chickens you want.
Summer, I hope you get a few minutes to yourself today.
I'm about to venture out for some bits and pieces, will be back later - internet permitting!
Good morning everyone
Ba news, the weather is dire here. Blowing a gale and bucketing down with rain The good news, I am back from doing my shopping almost dry Taxi down to town lets not talk about the fare and our 'little bus' back right to my front door
Yogi, hope you don't disappear *tapes Yogi to internet*
Pleased the weather is a lot better for you now You take care when you go out and have a safe journey back
El, i'm glad you managed to get your shopping done and are back hope safely Here's hoping you brother doesn't experience to many delays on his way there tomorrow.
Squiggle, love that smilie and very apt too I hope your grocery gets there okay. Be careful when you go out this afternoon
Sweet(Hagatha), I hope you have a lovely day too and if you have to go out, take care
Moonie, the weather's dire here as well. Looking at the forecast for my area, the rain eases for a time in the afternoon but then returns and coninues to 2 in the morning, stops for a couple of hours, then there's another 3 hours of rain from 5 to 8 tomorrow morning. About 35mm of rain in all. My house is not on the flood plain but there will be a lot of problems on the roads.
Crickey El, the outlook is very bad in your area You take very good care when you have to go out
Moonie, as I've done the shopping I needed to do for Christmas I'm not expecting to go out again until Christmas Day. My brother is travelling by train tomorrow morning - he did not have the option to travel today. We won't know until tomorrow morning how badly the train service has been affected. At this time, the route he takes has not been affected. Paddington to Gloucester is less likely than some routes to be affected.
It didn't last very long but the rain here bacame a downpour and anyone caught in it would have got soaked. I hope squiggle has been able to get the chickens this afternoon without being washed away.
The weather sound awful down your way, El. I hope the rain doesn't disrupt your brother's travel plans tomorrow.
I managed to get my shopping done while it was dry but it's raining again now.
Moonie, are you all set now, or will you need to go back out to the shops tomorrow? I will go out early for extra bread and milk, as there will be twelve of us on Boxing Day.
There's currently a respite from the rain here though I know there's lots more to come. Some branches have broken off from a tree in the back garden because of the wind. They are quite thin and I went into the garden to put them to one side.

I think we just caught the tail-end of it EL, the sizes of the chickens was quite disappointing so I nipped into the main town to M & S and managed to get a decent Oakham chicken, just over 7 pounds.
I hope everyone else has managed to get everything done without getting soaked or windswept.
Well done, squiggle There was a separate queue at M&S this morning when I went shopping but I think that was for those people who had ordered turkeys. A turkey would be a bit excessive for me and my brother.
With gusts forecast to get to 50mph in my area at midnight I thought I would break up those branches and put them in the garden refuse wheelie as I didn't want those blowing around the garden causing more damage.
El, hopefully your brother won't have much trouble traveling tomorrow
Yogi, pleased you have done your shopping and not got wet either
I only have to go to my 'local' shop. 5 or 6 minutes walk down the road, like you, too stock up with more bread and milk. Unlike you there wont be 12 here on Boxing Day . Good luck, you may need it
Squiggle, i'm glad you managed to sort out your poultry problem All my 'main shopping' done

Hiya Yogi
Summer, I've just sent you a message to say I kept getting cogs and my posts wouldn't go through, but now it's working.
I've been trying to catch up on my To Do list, as I had visitors earlier.
My back is much better thanks. I will watch what I'm doing and not lift anything too heavy for a while and hopefully it'll be okay.
I'm not surprised you couldn't resist the puppies, they are gorgeous!
Off for a bath and then fall into bed.
Goodnight Moonie and Summer, see you tomorrow.
They are so cute, I wouldn't care about the fur Sweet
Awww goodnight Sweet. Sleep well and have sweet dreams
