Dry but cloudy here, I was hoping for a little lie-in but had to hop about a bit when the window cleaners turned up.

 

I am glad your back is a little easier Yogi and that you had a better night's sleep.  Yes the whole family will be over for Christmas, the chef is working Christmas Day so we will have our main celebration on Boxing Day, I think they will do most of the cooking this year to give me a break.  I will do the bread sauce and stuffing in advance and get the chickens ready to pop in.  The wine is already in, my daughter is bringing more and my grocery delivery slot is booked for Monday.

 

We had our house group 'end of term Christmas party' yesterday where we ate lots of good food - we each brought a plate of savoury stuff and the hostess provided the puddings.  Then we did Secret Santa and played party games, which was daft but fun.

PB, eldest son and DiL will be with us on Boxing Day, as will middle son and DiL. Youngest son and his girlfriend are coming for Christmas dinner and staying over for Boxing Day. 

 

Squiggle, it's nice that you will all be together for Christmas, and great that your grandsons will be a big help with the cooking. You sound like you have everything organised.

My client who is undergoing replacement ankle surgery has had the second operation postponed until late January. He had hoped to be able to return to work by then but it could easily be April before he can.

It was a cold and frosty start here. Like a skating rink at 9-00 when I went out Then the sun came out and it warmed up a little. Now the sun has gone and the breeze is getting up. I have everything,outside, done and dusted for today. So I am a happy bunny

El, as has been said before, I have never heard of an ankle replacement before. Is it a new procedure?

Moonie, I think ankle replacements have been around for quite a few years but I think they are fairly rare and more complex than a hip replacement. The operation will take some 8 hours to perform. I can't say I had ever heard one one before my client told me that he was having to have one.
