Evening apologies for this morning, I must have churchilled using Hagatha's account and didn't realise this morning!

Sweet dreams all who've gone to bed already

Moonie, we need to talk! I appear to have caught your cold and my nose is running like a tap
I've put black pepper/grapefruit/tea tree oils in my bath, that should help fight it off!

Yogi I hope you got plenty of rest today

Hi Hagatha

Thats okay

*coughs* I did have a mask on Hagatha *coughs* so I am innocent

I hope that concoction does work. If not it will certainly be good for stuffing the chicken

Moonie

Summer, I'm sorry that you have a cold but it should go before Christmas Day.

Yogi, I'm sorry that your back is really painful and I hope it eases soon

for everyone

Summer, there's more likely to be snow from Emily in the north rather than the south. I know you like snow but it's better if there is none as the forecast strength of the wind would result in heavy blizzards and dangerous driving conditions.

El Loro

Good morning everyone, just had to quickly rush my youngest grandson off to his dental appointment, he sprung it on me at the last minute.  Still I am really pleased that he is in with a good dentist and taking care of his teeth.

Oh poor Yogi, and with hardly any sleep either you must be exhausted.  I wonder whether something like this would help, I have had one for over 20 years and wouldn't be without it, I have lent it to friends too and it has helped them.

Have a good day everyone, I am off this afternoon with my other grandson to the same dentist

I do hope that Emily blows through really quickly, blizzards and dangerous driving conditions are the last thing anyone wants with all the Christmas rush on.

Hug for Summer, hope your cold disappears quickly

A nice hot honey and lemon for you

I was so shocked to hear from a bee keeper recently that some unscrupulous bee keepers are starving their bees.  They take all the honey and replace it with sugar and water and there is insufficient nutrition for the bees.  He said that the bees will always share if another bee asks for food and when they don't have enough they kill the bees one by one leaving the queen for last.  I was quite shocked that they could be so irresponsible.

squiggle

Squiggle, that's disgusting that any bee keeper should do that, and there's even less excuse when it's a known fact that bees have been in serious decline for some years around the world. Don't they realise that the bees are a vital part of the world's ecosystem as they fertilse agricultural plants as well as other plants and their actions are jeopardising our futures.

Good afternoon everyone

Quite a cold and frosty morning but with blue sky. The sun is warming up nicely now

Hagatha(Sweet), here's hoping you only do have a head cold, as horrible as they are I love the owls too

Yogi, sorry your back is still hurting I hope it feels better soon and you manage to get some sleep tonight too

Squiggle, I hope everything turned okay with both of your grandsons' dental visits I like the look of that hot honey and lemon tea myself

for everyone. Back later

Moonie

I had a phone call from a client saying that he had received a tax bill from HMRC and wanted to know what it was for. I confirmed that it was correct, was for the year to 5 April 2013 and agreed with my calculation that I had given to him when I did his tax return.

He didn't accept this and said that he had paid his tax bill in June. I said I had no knowledge of any such payment. I looked on the HMRC site showing his tax payments and what he owed and that did not show any such payment. He still didn't accept this and said that his cheque book stub showed that it was for his tax bill. I suggested that he had a look at his papers to find out what the payment related to and to come back to me.

I then had an idea, checked it out and I was right. So I rang him back and said that the cheque had nothing to do with his tax bill.

It was his cheque he had given me for my fee
