Moonie, my little PB is poorly. She has a heavy cold and can't breath through her nose, which means she can't suck her dummy - which meant that she never slept a wink last night and neither did my son and DiL!

Dil would prefer PB to say mum as her first word - I think there is a bit of competition going on.

I do have hair but its getting less by the year now I did see EC's thread I think most children(unless I am wrong that is) say dad or dada cause its easier to say

We keep telling hubby his hair is thinning but he refuses to believe us. We speak the truth.

My three sons all said dada before mum.

I can almost shoe-shine my hair now(well not quite) but you get the idea

I see Lori has posted that a hotfix is due in the next day. So we may find some disruption during that time but let's hope afterwards the coggy problem has been sorted.

Good morning everyone, a lovely story EL.  I like the rainbow owl Summer.

 

Terrible conditions in so many places and the met office say worse is to come for some.  It jogged my memory when they said about the worst floods in East Anglia since 1953, I remember staying with my Aunt Lylie and when I woke up in the morning and looked out of the window there was brown water everywhere.  I was amazed.

 

As the sergeant used to say on Hill Street Blues 'be careful out there'!

Squiggle, I hope the flooding isn't as bad as 1953, flood defences have been improved since then. But it looks as if it's the worst in many years.

I've just talked to the treasurer of one of my clients. He lives in Boston (UK not USA) and there are severe flood alerts to the north of Boston, to the east of Boston, and to the west and south. His house is not flooded but there is wide spread flooding there including the centre of Boston.

No doubt there will be extensive and extended news on television about this and Nelson Mandela.

Hubby will need to check out the damage to the roof slates today - we know that at least one is broken as there were bits of slate on the driveway.

DiL is at work today but I have messaged her for an update on PB. i'll let you know when she gets back to me.

Hubby opted for staying on the ground and looking at the roof with my birdwatching binoculars. We have one broken slate and a couple have slipped and will need to be put back. No chance of hubby going up onto the roof, so will need to wait for one of our sons.

Update from DiL. She thinks PB is over the worst of it. They managed to get some sleep last night, with PB only wakening for an hour. Anyway, hopefully she is on the mend.

El, I messed your post about the hotfix earlier, keeping everything crossed that it fixes the coggy problem.

I am with your hubby on heights. I have a problem stepping off a high kerb

Good luck to your son, whichever one is  unfortunate enough to do the job

Good afternoon a very cold, icy but bright day here today. My brother is fine and hasn't found much disruption near where he lives, I think the place they evacuated to had it worse! Flood warnings are still in place though.

I've been to check on the puppies, they're growing fast! Mama still tries to hide them though so photos are proving tricky. It's funny because it won't be long before she can't wait to get some space from them

Summer, I'm glad your brother hasn't been affected. I think the flood warnings are still in place because of this evening's tide though I think it applies to those areas which have already been flooded rather than new areas.
