Sweet dreams yogi & moonie, I'm glad you were around tonight

Goodnight. Summer, sweet dreams and I'm glad we finally caught up with each other.

My battery on the ipad is getting low, so I better go too. Goodnight Moonie, sweet dreams to you, too.

Naughty Summer

How lovely that Keira is so protective of the baby, I reckon you are all probably in for the best Christmas ever, nothing like seeing it all again through the eyes of a child and with Nativity plays to look forward to in years to come, what joy.

I did have to laugh at Bramble and the badger, I bet the badger had a sore bottom the next day, and I bet he didn't taste too nice either   I am glad they are getting on with the floor and hope the smell of the screed goes off quickly.

Very windy and cold here today, but sunny.  Have a great day everyone

I've been out and about. It's sunny outside, although very chilly and slippery underfoot.

That's a brilliant smile, El.

Well done on starting your Christmas gift buying, Skylark. I've got some gifts for PB and my Christmas cards, but I need to get started on the rest of the family's gifts.

Summer, are you at work today? If you are, at least you won't smell the stinky screed.

Moonie, my washing is all done too. *adopts equally smug face*

Squiggle, you'll need to let us know your first impressions of the jungle celebs.

Off to to some cooking - this weather makes me want to cook warm, hearty food.

Yes I'm at work today I popped out at lunch and the puddles are frozen solid, it must be below zero out there.
I feel excited, I hope it does snow a little.

The prep work on the floor is complete if all goes to plan, they should be able to start laying it tomorrow afternoon. We're only a day and a half behind, hopefully it'll be finished by Friday night.

Moonie, stay in lol stay warm!
~Sparkling Summer~

Did any of you spot this?

From the Guardian but in other papers as well the other day.

The BBC turned cupcakes and pastries into primetime TV fare with The Great British Bake Off. Now it is hoping to do the same with a horticultural contest on BBC2. Grow, Make, Eat: The Great Allotment Challenge will feature green-fingered contestants growing a crop of fruit and vegetables, and facing three trials each week that test their horticultural knowledge, creativity and culinary skills. The six-hour-long episodes will air early next year – and the show will no doubt be given time to bed in and cultivate an audience. Fronted by Fern Britton, the show will be judged by Royal Horticultural Society judge Jim Buttress, floral designer Jonathan Moseley and cookery writer Thane Prince. Suggestions that 69-year-old Buttress – vice-chairman of the RHS Herbaceous Plant Committee and described by the Daily Telegraph as the "Judge Dread" of the Britain in Bloom competition – may be the new Paul Hollywood appear somewhat premature.

I'm not convinced that it will have the same appeal as Bake Off.

What's GD getting from Santa?

No idea what she getting yet. She does need a new bike. Maybe a really good quality art set, she loves painting and drawing, and at an age now where she looks after her things. Will have a chat with nana so we dont get the same things, although it wouldnt really matter so much as she can have stuff there and here. Mum is getting her skates....that should be fun...as long as she has knee and arm pads, she does tend to be a bit clumsy!

Not sure if i am using the time wisely, am watching Jeremy Kyle, not sure why

Turned Jeremy off, getting a headache!

I don't blame you for turning him off, I just don't like that type of programme.

I prefer programmes more like Last Tango in Halifax which is back tonight.

Skylark, we got a lovely Christmas tree bauble with My First Christmas on it. It also has PB's name and says love from granny and grandad. Fingers crossed that Harv doesn't batter the tree with his tail, or the bauble will be in pieces!

Is your granddaughter getting excited about Christmas yet? I see most places have started their Santa Grottos already - personally it seems a bit too early, but what do I know. PB is a bit young to visit Santa this year, but maybe next year.

Summer, I hope your flooring looks beautiful when it's finished. It's a pain having this sort of work done, but it will be worth it in the end.

El, that new programme could be something I'd like to watch. I don't mind Fern Britton but does anyone know what's going on with her and Phil Vicker? I keep seeing magazine headlines which appear to hint that all is not well with their marriage but I never buy the magazines, so don't know what's going on.

I missed the last episode of Last Tango, still never kept up. I do tend to watch things in my bed, then conk out.
Aww lovely Yogi. Yes you can have names on the baubles, nice you got PB, on hers. Nice to keep, up high on the tree!!
Gd hasnt really stopped talking about Christmas, since last ! I put her in the shopping trolley in Tesco the other day, and we gave a fine rendition of Rudolph The Red Nose Reindeer, as one does!  Some sighs from shoppers, who a bit like me, bah humbug, but children just love this time of year, so let her sing on!

I am like everyone else as regarding Jungle I think Yogi, I like Steve but Joey hasn't been quite as bad as I expected so far, although I find it hard to believe that someone of his age can't tell the time

I went off Fern Britton when I read her autobiography I'm afraid so definitely won't be watching, she irritates me now.

Skylark, Wiki's summary of the last episode of the first series of Last Tango:

Lawrence accepts Caroline's relationship with Kate. However, Celia does not; her homophobic views shock Alan, who implores her to give Kate a chance. Celia agrees to meet Kate at a dinner party hosted by Caroline. However, Celia's bigotry and hostility towards Kate ruins the evening, leading Alan to call off the wedding and driving a wedge between Caroline and Kate. Caroline and Celia have a blazing row, trading insults and expletives. Celia realises that her behaviour had made her daughter unhappy and visits Kate, apologising for her own behaviour and imploring that she give Caroline another chance. Alan meanwhile, suffers a heart attack. Celia realises that she may have lost everything and rushes to his bedside. They reconcile and decide the wedding will go ahead. The first series ends with a flashback to sixty years ago, showing the teenage Alan asking Celia on a date, just as the present-day Alan regains consciousness. He tells Celia that he knew in his heart he would see her again, and Celia tells Alan that Kate will be able to play the Arrival of the Queen of Sheba at their wedding.

I think Joey's 'ignorance' is definitely exaggerated, which will annoy me as time goes on. Everyone else seems okay so far, but (as always) I reserve the right to change my mind.

I haven't read Fern's autobiography. Why did you go off her, after reading it?

Yogi19

My hairdresser lent the book to me, I quite liked her before I read it, maybe it was just me but she came across as very self-obsessed and quite callous to the feeling of others.  For instance Phil Vickery was seeing someone else but she went after him quite deliberately which I wasn't keen on, she took the view that Phil wasn't serious about his girlfriend but it left a nasty taste to me.

Oh dear, that's not a nice attitude.
