The path of the storm was further to the south than forecast meaning that my area has avoided the very strong winds so no power cuts. There has been very heavy rain overnight, a couple of inches. So there's a lot of surface water on the roads which will make life difficult for those commuting to work.

Weather here is at present a mix of cloud and blue sky with a light breeze.

 

I hope squiggle is OK as the strong winds will have affected where she lives.

 

The current Vision Express advert which has been shown over the past few months shows a series of people with glasses looking straight at you. Most of them are unknown with the exception of one person. I was a bit puzzled when I saw him as he looked remarkably like Heston Blumenthal. So I checked, and it is him. Apparently he has a range of designer glasses there.

Glad you missed the worst of the storm. Lets hope Squiggle is okay

Good morning everyone, been having a lovely catch up.  I agree about lemon meringue pie, if I do say so myself my lemon meringue pie was famous along with my trifle.  Don't be put off by a soggy bottom EL, a good one is sheer heaven.  PB sounds adorable, baby sick or no. 

 

I must admit to being a coward, I have never tried sushi   I think the look of it puts me off, my grandsons wolf it down so I have bought it but not tasted it.

 

Although there have been some gusts and a few sharp downpours so far not as bad as I was expecting weatherwise.  The baby owl is really cute.

 

When my contract expires at Christmas I may upgrade to an S4 so I shall tune in to this thread for hints and tips

 

I hope the weather today is not too bad for everyone, hopefully it will all die down later this afternoon.

Not from me I hope Squiggle because you will probably know more about the S4 on Boxing Day than I will even by then

Squiggle, I've never tried sushi either as the thought of eating raw fish puts me off. I'm glad that the weather hasn't been as bad in your area as it might have been.

And as I don't have any mobile phones let alone a S4 I'm not going to be of much help either.

I've never had sushi with raw fish in, and I've eaten a lot of sushi!lots are made with veg, chicken, beef and cooked fish

We had a bad day here yesterday, very windy and heavy rain, so we didnt get out and and about much. We tried to do some gardening at sisters house but gave up.
@PB, she is a right wee character.
Not keen on sushi either. I can eat haddock now and again, but not a fish or seafood lover. 
Got a lot of housework to do so best get on.

I'm glad the storm hasn't been as bad as predicted for the Buddies. Some areas seem to have had a very bad time of it.

 

I just hope Joyron and family are alright as her county was hit by the storm.

Hope you all kept warm, dry and safe today it's been windy and occasionally showery here, but still very mild.
It's very sad to hear of people dying in the storm

We had a lovely tea and catch up with family tonight, which is why I'm up so late.
Bramble has been more chirpy today but scoffed Stream's dinner and then threw up all over me in the car just as arrived home

Moonie, housework can wait, don't worry about it! I've still not fully caught up since MIL was in hospital, my kitchen cupboards need a jolly good spring clean

Quite cloudy here but should be dry today, a better day than yesterday.

The Express is doing their normal act today by saying there's going to be a repeat of the storm at the weekend but this time affecting the North. Although the Met Office say that a storm is developing for the weekend they say that this is a typical autumn storm, not a repeat of yesterday's.

 

I hope Bramble is better soon

Good morning everyone.  What a beautiful picture Summer, I want to stroll down that path and kick at all the leaves.

 

Bramble! what is she like?  She is having a hard time learning what to eat and what to leave, hopefully it's something she will grow out of.  Not very pleasant being thrown up on though.

 

I am glad you got a rainbow Yogi, it can't help but lift your day can it?  It's a lovely bright morning here with just a few grey clouds blowing about.
