That's why I posted the link as that cider cake does look quite tasty. I don't know if you need to check the various measurements shown in the recipe as sometimes there are differences between the UK and the US.

If you do I think you will find I have given the equivalent quantities from American cups to grams and ounces in the cookbook you bought.

My day's been fine. I spent hours transferring hundred of photos from my ipad to my laptop. Didn't have a clue what I was doing, so ended up doing each photograph individually. I think I have RSI now.

PB is arriving at 8am, so it's an early night for me.

I just managed to figure out how to transfer pictures from new mobile to my lappy, so you're not alone. No RSI for me yet

Sometimes we do things and it works but its trying to remember how we did it, that's the problem Fankoo, more by luck than Judgment i'm afraid

I usually write things down, so that I know how to do them again next time,  but it was a complete fluke that I found a way to transfer the pics today. I was frightened to take a break halfway through, in case I couldn't find the pics again to transfer the rest.

I write things down to then loose the paper/book I written it in

 I've done that before.

The thing is I do it with passwords

I have different passwords for everything, so I have to keep a list of them in a book. If anyone ever nicks my book, I'm in deep trouble.

Moonie, Bramble is still a bit off colour but she got top marks for everything at the vets today. They always mention how very good her teeth are! Hopefully she'll be back to her normal self soon

Got two nice photo frames for sister, from a small gift/craft shop in town. They are silver with little flowers painted on. Very pretty. She says she wont spoil them by putting my photo in. Cheek

Good morning everyone, those photo frames sound lovely Skylark. Catch up later as I have a room full of family this morning and can't hear myself think

I've done my shopping and been to the bank, I've brought the recycling boxes into the house for the next couple of days in case they are blown away. So I'm as prepared as possible for what is still a potential majot storm rather than a certainty though the Met Office haven't changed their warnings.

 

 

I think we will just have to see how it pans out EL, very sensible bringing in your recycling boxes.  I actually have a concrete block in the bottom of one of my dustbins as I normally only use one.   It was being blown over before.

Squiggle, as you say, we'll just have to see how it pans out. Looks as if the strongest winds in your area are the early hours on Monday and a few hours later in  my area. I'm glad I don't have to commute to work on Monday morning.

That's a good idea having a concrete block in your dustbin.

Turned cold here, have put the heating on as David Cameron suggested, hope he pays the bill when i post it to him  
I have been looking around to see when Agatha Christie,s "Curtain" (Poirot) is being aired, looks like Nov 13 th, but dont take that as fact. If you dont know the story or read the book i shall say no more...

Skylark, I think you are right with Curtain being shown on November 13th. Although I haven't read the book I do know the outcome. As you, I will say no more other than Hastings will be in it (that's not a spoiler).
