Shopping is done and the cake is on the oven.

Skylark, I could be persuaded to clean my windows if I had Michael Buble to help me.

Summer, that Christmas pudding looks lovely. Is this your first attempt at making one, or do you make one every year? I've never made one

El, I like the name "Stir Up Sunday" but had never heard of it before.

Moonie, I hope you've had a nice lunch with your sister.

Hi all, hope the cake turns out well, i am sure it will Yogi. Do you blow a kiss when you put it in, i do, i dont know why, maybe my mother did

Thats a nice expression El. not sure if its used in C of S , there may be an equivalent, but i dont know, embarrassed to say  I shall enquire
I havent made a Christmas cake, dont particularly like it, thats maybe why. I have had it at family dinners, out of politeness, but dont like it if its too rich. If you make one Summer, hope it turns out well for you.

Hi moonie, glad it went wellish or hellish
I shall say no more!
Having an argument just now with my dog, Kia, as one does! She has gone off dog food, and not having any of it. She wants human food now. She is an oldish lady now, and getting rather grumpy and fussy  Have told her if she doesn't behave she will go to a home, dont think she is listening
I bet if i brought in the neighbours dog the food would be eaten, no probs.

Edit, not glad if it went hellish! Posted at the same time, so now i got it! x

Just like my sis

Awww poor Kia They never do listen. They just flash those sad eyes and you melt, eh?

no probs Skylark x

Moonie

I've been out much of the day with a client meeting this morning and another one which I've just come back from.

Yogi, the smell of freshly baked cakes can be very enticing particularly when they are spicy - I'm guessing cinnamon.

Skylark, as the Church of Scotland is not an anglican church (the Scottish Episcopal Church is) and the Book of Common Prayer is or has been used in anglican churches, I think it's less likely that they have Stir up Sunday as such.

It's easy to think that the Church of Scotland is the Scottish equivalent of the Church of England but it isn't. (though the Church in Wales is the Welsh equivalent of the C of E. and the Church of Ireland is the Irish equivalent).

El Loro

No indeed El,  i did understand what you were saying. As an important day in any Christian diary, so to speak, the day will be marked.Different Churches will have their own expressions of the day x

Yes moonie, i do melt with Kia,s eyes, but i am not a mug, well maybe a wee bit... Sisters oh dear who would have them! I am sure she cares. Like mine, can be a pain, but i am sure she says the same thing about me! I do understand about women being a pain, i am one too, so i should know!
Any feminists reading i blame moonie

It has Mixed Spice in it. Eating a slice right now, and it is delicious!

Off for a bath and an early night. Didn't sleep too well last night, following a nightmare about spiders. In the nightmare, I was shouting to hubby that there was a huge hairy spider in the bedroom - then I said, 'it's either a huge hairy sider or a tiny monkey!' Then, I was hiding in the bathroom and lots of huge spiders were crawling under the door. I was relieved when I woke up!

Hopefully, off for a dream-free sleep tonight. Goodnight everyone, see you tomorrow.

Hugs for night owls.

My niece has a Staffy and when she has done anything wrong she looks at you under her eyes as if to say "it wasn't and if it was I didn't do it on purpose"

I think I over-exaggerated just a little Skylark but not much though
