Hubby got his flu jab at work today. He got a sticker which said, 'I've been brave'. He was fuming that some staff got a lollipop but they wouldn't give him one because he's diabetic.

That made me smile, I could just picture him - hold on a minute, I had my flu jab last week. I never got a sticker OR a lollipop 
Good morning everyone, off to get a new numberplate on my car. I forgot to tell you, when I was paying at the hairdressers last week someone pointed out that a woman had just backed into a car, MY CAR! She rushed over to apologise and said her husband was a mechanic at my garage. She said he would phone me, but of course he didn't so I had to chase him, anyway he has ordered the number plate and will fit it this morning. He said it's lucky my car is an old one as they are much stronger than the new ones and there probably would have been a bit of damage on the newer models.

Summer, in the Anglican churches the last Sunday before Advent is sometimes known as Stir Up Sunday. The collect (a prayer for the day) is in the Book of Common Prayer and is:
"Stir up, we beseech thee, O Lord, the wills of thy faithful people; that they, plenteously bringing forth the fruit of good works, may of thee be plenteously rewarded; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen."
Traditionally, that is the day when families would go home after the morning church service and make and bake a Christmas pudding so that it would be mature for Christmas Day.
