Good morning everyone

Cloudy here but bits of blue trying to get through. It's dry at present but rain is forecast. No sign of the fog which is affecting many places.

Summer, that's a great owl picture, squiggle will love it.

I've ordered a copy of that Rick Stein series so that I can show it to my brother when he comes here in a few weeks time.

El Loro

Good morning everyone, I do love it that owl picture is wonderful, and so topical with the full moon as well.

I have dropped him off for his CBT, he has been dreaming of this day for years so I hope he passes OK.  We are looking for a second-hand bike for him and I came across an ad yesterday a lady is selling this bike as she bought it for her son last week and the guys on the CBT course told him he doesn't have enough confidence and she now has to buy him an automatic ouch!

I am glad your son as well topped up on his PB cuddles too Yogi, she does sound a little sweetheart.

That Rick Stein series sounds very interesting EL and I am sure your brother will like it too.

You may or may not know that Damien Hirst ( ) lives about half a mile away.  Well I had heard through the grapevine that he had bought up loads of the properties in the tucked away section where his house is.  As we went past it this morning we noticed a For Sale board, now the question is, is he moving or has someone with a huge amount of land got fed up with living near him?

squiggle

Squiggle, I was talking with a client of mine on Monday. During the course of his work he was doing some work for someone else and went to Toddington Manor. This is the one in Gloucestershire, not the one in Bedfordshire. My client was able to wander around the manor and noticed lots of paintings. He met the owner while he was there and had quite a long chat with him. Afterwards when he met the person he was working for he told him of his visit. It was then that he was told who the owner was and who he had been talking with, None other than Damien Hirst who bought Toddington Manor in 2005 with a view to do a lot of restoration work and eventually live there as his family home and have his gallery there.

So that could well be the reason behind his decision to sell properties in your area.

El Loro

Squiggle, it seems that Damien Hirst had bought those properties in your area with a view to redeveloping them into sustainable eco houses. The cost of the renovations at Toddington House is huge, some ÂĢ10m was mentioned back in 2006. Maybe he has had to change his mind about the eco houses and get the money to finance the renovations?

Afternoon
Fingers crossed for grandson squiggle x
The Rick Stein series will be very interesting for you and brother El.
Havent seen Mousetrap, not sure if its been here, probably has at some point. Well done on getting the killer, Summer!

Squiggle I wonder who your new neighbour will be! I've got visions of a Mr Bingley arriving and exciting all the females in the area

What a lovely thought, with a Mr Darcy too, I could go visiting

Grandson passed!

I'm probably an old fuddy duddy but that's one of the reasons that people like him irritate me.  Before he moved in it was a perfectly good farm park, popular with children for miles around.  It's an AONB all round here so probably he would have struggled to get planning permission for his eco houses.

Slightly different but Donald Trump irritates me, coming up here and expecting his money  to make people jump to his commands, and planning permission doesnt seem to matter in their world
On a happier note, very well done to your grandson squiggle  Bet he is well chuffed.

I couldn't agree more Skylark, money (in their eyes) seems to give you the power to bulldoze not only through planning permissions but also the wishes of everyone else.  Really gets my goat.

Thank you both, he is not home yet but he phoned his brother to let him know.

Awww

I have never done planes but all other modes of transport I am okay with I have grown more accustomed to rail of late. You can move around easier But used to like coaches except for the restrictions.

I'm fine thanks and my day has been okay fankoo

Must get off now, take care all. Sweetest of dreams and God bless.
 For Yogi .
Hope you had good day Summer x

Broom broom! *night owls*

^squiggle, I could not resist congratulations to your grandson I expect he's very happy tonight, and you are feeling proud of him

There's been a reflective mood in our house tonight, our busy schedule of late has come to a halt and we have the weekend free to relax. (I have to wait until after work tomorrow of course ) I'm looking forward to staying in tomorrow night.

I hope everyone had a good day- what are your weekend plans?
Skylark I hope you've found some time to relax or do something for yourself

Leaving hugs for yogi who is very much missed and one for moonie I hope you feel better today, it's lovely to see that you popped in

Moonie
Good morning
I've exhausted my snooze button and am allowing myself just a few more minutes lol

Moonie, sorry I missed you last night, I've left you a message in the manor

Skylark, the mousetrap has been in London for 60 years and is now doing it's first national tour. It may well be showing in your neck if the woods after it leaves here.

Yogi I hope you slept well last night

You guys won't believe what I have discovered this morning;

~Sparkling Summer~

Good morning everyone.  I agree it's outrageous that Santa isn't an allowed word - outrage .

Thanks for that lovely owl, yes he is chuffed to little mint balls as they say, and relieved too I think as his younger brother has already passed, he would have been very upset to have failed.  I have run him over to his usual home as he and his brother are helping the lady next door to move some concrete blocks.  She thought the guys who delivered them were going to put them in the right place but they just dumped them   Now bear in mind one grandson has a broken foot and one grandson has a dislocated and unstable shoulder   Their hearts are in the right place. I have told them to go steady and not strain themselves.

Hope you are feeling better this morning Yogi and a hug for you too moonie, nice to see you posting again

squiggle

It sure is dark here outside and it's pouring.

My brother rang me last night to let me know that he's back home. He had quite a pleasant holiday in Belgium though the weather wasn't great. The last 3 days of his holiday were spent in Ypres. Quite a sombre way to end a holiday but it was his friend who wanted to go there.

El Loro
Good evening

A busy day here, and my original plans for a lovely hot bath & being in pj's to watch strictly have been changed- we're heading out for a meal with SIL & friends instead!
I must confess I don't feel very sociable tonight but aren't those usually the occasions that end up being a good night out!

Squiggle your grandsons are very kind, they do you proud

El, I hope your brother has photos to share when he visits you next, I love seeing people's holiday pics!

Skylark I hope you are having a nice weekend

Leaving hugs for yogi & moonie
