I've just downloaded ios7 to my iPad, it looks straaaaange now

ios7 does look a bit strange but I have got used to it now.

One negative I have noticed, the battery seems to drain much quicker since ios7 was downloaded.

I'm going to have an early bath and get into my PJs too.

I used molton brown bath salts! I keep radox salts in the cupboard but much prefer the MB ones.
Where do you get the L'occtaine products? The hotel we stayed in over the weekend had a very nice soap by them. I wanted to bring it home with me
I'm a fan of Chsmpneys too, and even more so since boots started stocking it, they have 3 for 2 offers frequently

Good morning everyone

Still cold and windy here. My area is right on the edge of the rain area to the east so there may be heavy rain at times today or dry.

My phone returned to life some time between 8 and 9 last evening. The Virgin Media service status still shows that the fault is being worked on and expect the fault to be fully sorted by 4 this afternoon.

Good morning everyone. Weather is milder than yesterday, and dry and bright.

Virgin must have quite a big problem in your area, El. I'm glad your phone is working again.

Going to get my hair trimmed this afternoon. It doesn't need much off, just a tidy up.

I started reading the first Inspector Morse book by Colin Dexter, called Last Bus To Woodstock and I'm enjoying it, so far. I am ignoring Dexter's physical description of Morse and imagining John Thaw in the role.

Hugs for everyone.

Summer, although my phone is currently working, if it's not then many of my clients are on the internet so could email me if they were trying to contact me. I don't get or make a lot of phone calls so it's more of an inconvenience rather than a disaster.

I am going off to see a client in a few minutes and have another client meeting mid afternoon so will be out quite a lot of the time.

It's quite cloudy and grey here although they have said in the forecast it's supposed to be a dry day.  I am glad your phone is back to normal EL, for a business it's not good for a phone line to be down.

I hope the hairdresser cuts your hair just right Yogi.  Leaving hugs for Skylark and moonie

I'm back from client 1, am getting my lunch, then off to see client 2. The phone appears to be still working though I didn't get any calls while I was out.

I mentioned my phone problem to client 1. He is a ham (amateur radio fan) and was listening in and heard that the problem was caused by a cable having been damaged somewhere.

He's a PAT tester. We were talking about when subsistence costs were allowable for tax and when they were not. As an example I said that if he went to a seminar in Nottingham run by the royal society of pat testers (I don't think there is such a thing) that meals which he paid for his own meals (not when he's paying for others as that's entertaining) would be fine. He then said that he and other pat testers had got together to form a group. Next year they were going to get together at a meeting in Nottingham Am I pyschic or am I psychic

Next week's stories on Doctors (BBC1 1.45pm Monday to Friday) are on a theme.

Titles are Monday & Tuesday Austenland parts 1 & 2, Wednesday Charlotte's Web, Thursday Northanger Bungalow, and Friday Gemma.

All the stories have a Jane Austen theme and could be rather good. Hopefully they won't be nonsense and nonsensibility.

(Charlotte was the title of a novel which Jane Austen never finished but a version was finished by Julia Barrett some years ago and was published)

I'm back from seeing client 2. She lives in Hucclecote. At this time of the day the main road from Hucclecote to the Walls roundabout on the outskirts of Gloucester city is one long line of traffic (2 miles)  waiting to get on to the ringroad at the roundabout. Even when one gets on to the ringroad it's fairly slow. Time from my house to the client going to her is about 15 minutes. Estimated time to return that way at this time is more likely to be 30 to 45 minutes. (they are planning to improve the roundabout to speed things up).

So I decided to go on an alternative route which is slightly longer and goes cross country around Churchdown hill. I managed to get home missing all traffic jams and it took 15 minutes

Thank you. I knew of course that you would say that

I should say that my psychic abilities are a bit haphazard and random. For instance I once dreamt the 6 winning numbers of the national lottery and remembered them when I woke up. However I realised that there was little point in getting a ticket with those numbers as they were:

8,8,8,8,8 and 8 (that is true, I'm not making it up)

Would not have been a winning ticket, I fear.

Say a prayer for the people in North East India - terrifying colossal storm heading their way - may develop to the worst natural disaster for some time.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-india-24487130 there's a video of the current weather forecast which is scary. Calcutta/Kolkata is right on the edge of the storm system. You may remember that my family had a strong historical connection with Calcutta over 300 hundred years ago.

Likewise, that's very worrying
I hope it dissolves out at sea and doesn't hit them. Chances are slim I should think

Yogi, I've had a good day thank you work was quiet, which was perfect because I had an upset tummy last night so didn't dare eat anything today! I have eaten some toast since I got home and feel alright

Did you have a good day?
