Our friends are definitely making sloe gin! But I fully expect them to also do everything that is possible with sloe's;  I've never seen a home with such a huge collection of recipe books!
We left with homemade carrot cake & lemoncello, and fresh picked apples/cucumbers/rhubarb/chilli's from their garden...

Just dropped my brother off at the railway station. A pleasant weekend and the cakes were good. Only one left now

 

My brother is going off on holiday on Tuesday in Belgium. 3 nights in Antwerp, 3 nights in Bruges, then 3 nights at Ypres. I think it is the friend he is going with who wants to go to Ypres as neither I or my brother know of any member of our families who fell in WW1. I hope they have a nice time though the Ypres part is likely to be sombre.
