Good morning everyone.  I used to be terrified of daddy long legs, they always seemed to dive straight at me, did you manage to evict him EL?

Sounds like a lovely chat with your neighbour Summer, she sounds a lovely lady.

I know just what you mean about the cupboards being nicely full Yogi, my mum who lived through the war used to keep a stock of lots of things, especially tinned food.

squiggle

Squiggle, I think I did but there are a few of them around at this time of the year. I know some people don't like daddy long legs but they don't worry me.

I hope we never have to bring food rationing back in this country. As soon as news spreads about some item at risk of being in short supply, what happens is that panic buying starts and within a day the item which was in short supply has gone even if the risk was just a rumour.

A spot of history will be made at 5pm tomorrow on Radio 5 when the football results are announced by the new reader. For years (since 1974) they were announced by James Alexander Gordon and the way he intoned the home side you could tell before the away side was mentioned if it was a home win (sort of triumphal), a draw (a neutral voice) or an away win (a bit downbeat).

It will be interesting to see how the new reader will announce the results. She had already admitted she's a bit nervous but it's Charlotte Green who for many years was the Radio 4 newsreader

I don't mind daddy long legs. There have been quite a few around here over the last month or so, but I can gently catch them in my hands and set them free outside.

Your neighbour must be very organised, if she is buying her Christmas presents already, El.

Hope you've had five minutes to yourself, catch up later, Summer.

Prince George will be christened on 23 October at the Chapel Royal at St James's Palace. It is a private service but afterwards there will be photographs. One of these will be of the Queen, Prince Charles, Prince William and Prince George. That photo will be historic as it will the first time the monarch and the three successive heirs to the throne will be gathered together in a formal event since 1894 in the time of Queen Victoria.

Quite cloudy but dry here.

Moonie, the dentist may postpone the filling if you are sneezing as that could eaxily cause your head to move suddenly whilst they were drilling.

 not me El

Sorry about that, I meant Pirate, got a bit of a head cold
