It has been missing for the last two days ,there Is a gap in my porch at the back that It can shield from the weather .

It was back again this morning ,someone laughed at me when I said dog food can harm cats ...but anyhow my dogs will not touch It anyway ...so a big bowl of chicken this morning sometimes tuna ..am I well off nahh but I hate to think of winter coming up ...see you x

It could be the SAS on one of their black ops carrying out surveillance on your moles

Do you reckon?   (What a thing to ask an accountant! )

Well done frodo, I am glad the little cat has found a caring friend

  Operation Moley.

Congratulations on your new status, Frodo.

I'll bet the little cat appreciates the food and maybe, in time, it will grow to trust you enough to let you stroke it.

Maybe the queen is coming Squiggle! or, the moles have done a runner!

Frodo, well done on feeding the kitty, I wonder if it's homeless?

You guys won't believe what I found at work today! I'll confess that it scared me at first lol
I was on the loo, daydreaming as usual, when something in the corner of my vision moved. It was big compared to my usual spider buddy so i knew it wasn't him and my heart started pounding this thing crawled slowly across the floor... I thought it was a rat! Then I thought it was a frog! But then I realised it was actually a young BAT!
I didn't know what to do and couldn't scream because I didn't want to scare the dog... So I opened the back door and left it to it's own devices! I haven't seen it since so I hope he's moved on, but I am going to have a quick search around before I leave tonight

Summer, this is why you must wear gloves if you find the bat again:

British bats have few diseases that could affect humans and problems are very rare indeed. In recent years a tiny number of bats have been detected with a rabies-like virus called European bat lyssavirus, which can infect humans. For this reason, you should not touch bats or have contact with bat saliva. Bats rarely come into contact with people, but if you are bitten or scratched by a bat, you should wash the wound thoroughly with soap and running water for at least 5 minutes and seek immediate medical advice. An effective post exposure rabies treatment is available. Even if you have bats in your roof, there is minimal risk to you, provided you do not handle them.

Sorry Frodo, I didn't mean to offend you when I used the word status, I just meant that I was pleased that you had managed to sort out the VIP thing.

I agree Summer, I don't think there will be many more flip flop days - time to look out the boots again.

Good morning everyone.

It's cool but sunny, up here. I think I'll try to get the front borders weeded today. I can't believe the number of weeds which have appeared over the space of a week!

I hope there are no more bat incidents, Summer. I can't remember ever seeing a bat in RL.

I hope all goes well at the dentist, Squiggle.

Have a good day, everyone.

Good luck Squiggle I hope your new dentist is good, gentle and kind

No sign of the bat this morning

My new dentist is good gentle and kind.  What a lovely man, he's checked my teeth, says I have the gums of a 30 year old taken X rays and looked at them and says I don't have to go back for 6 months.  If you remember my old dentist had booked me in for another scale and polish in October ÂĢ39 with the hygienist) plus a check up and she said I needed two fillings which would have been ÂĢ214 on the NHS.  This morning's visit was ÂĢ49.50 for the initial consultation and after that I am on a ÂĢ10 per month plan, so not only do I feel I can trust my new dentist but I have actually saved money.

Good luck with the weeding Yogi, they can literally spring up overnight can't they?  Wow an invite for New Years Eve already Summer, still I suppose there are a lot of parties at that time so you do need to sort out your guest list.  Will be a lovely something to look forward to.

The helicopter with the camera is still around so I think it's probably something like Google Earth, some big mapping project.

*night owls* good evening all

Sorry I'm so late, it's been quite an eventful afternoon & evening- will life ever calm down for us again..?
MIL's funeral reunited mr summer & his sisters with some friends that they grew up with and were very close to for many years. Long story short, we went to their anniversary party a couple of weeks ago where we discovered they still have a huge collection of vinyl... Mr summer is clearing out his mum's house gradually, and found an old stereo system of his that is top notch, and includes a record player. He's given it to these old friends tonight, who then decided to give us this...

It's a 3 dimensional outdoor christmas tree! and of course I had to ring everyone I know to squeal down the phone at them ok that was a slight exaggeration but I did call one of my SIL's and upload the pic to my fb page

I did take time to watch the bake off though, and thoroughly enjoyed it

Squiggle, I'm very pleased about your dentist, you must be so relieved

Wishing all of you, and our absent friends, a good night's sleep
~Sparkling Summer~

Good morning everyone. It's cool and rather cloudy up here.

If you are having a lie in with Bramble, does that mean you are day off today, Summer? Were there any more bat sightings at work yesterday?

I love your Christmas tree - did Mr Summer's friends know of your love of all things Christmassy, or was it just a bit of luck that they gave you the lovely tree?

My legs are aching today, after yesterday's weeding marathon. Anyway, the borders look better, so it's all good.

Have a good day, everyone.

Yogi19
Yes I've finally got my day off back yogi! I'm going to meet SIL for lunch and run some errands in town.
I hope you don't get too stiff today after all that weeding, it's a horrible job isn't it. I've got a few to remove now too, there seems to be lots of thistle/prickley ones growing this year

I don't think the friends knew exactly how much I like christmas when they offered the tree to mr summer, he must have mentioned that he had MIL's fibre optic one in the car and that led to it. They said they've got more decorations too and that they'll have a good look in the garage for us lol
~Sparkling Summer~

Good morning everyone, what a beautiful tree, it will look so lovely outdoors, I love little surprises like that completely out of the blue.  Your Christmas season is getting off with a bang Summer what with an invite to a New Years Party and now a beautiful Christmas tree and more goodies on the way.

It still feels a bit unreal with the dentist.  I used to go every six months and just be told to come back in six months but recently they have been wanting to do something every time I go so I can't get my head around having an appointment next March.

I am glad you got your borders weeded Yogi and hopefully with the change in the weather the weed growth will slow right down now and they won't need much attention before the winter.
