It's been quiet in here this afternoon.
Pancakes - yum!
I think you all deserved a nap after your hike yesterday.
Yes, it's been a few days since Moonie has been here. I hope he's okay.
More pancakes tomorrow - lucky you!
My day was fine, thanks. The prospective bride and groom came for dinner and everything seems to be going according to plan. * keeps fingers crossed*

Hi Ros. Yes, it's my middle son and his fiancÃĐe.
They are excited and looking forward to it. I am probably more nervous than them because I just want it all to be perfect for them.
You should have seen me tonight - I decided to give my fascinator a haircut! The one I bought was the perfect colour but a bit big and fussy for my liking, so the bride and I took the scissors to it. Looks great now.
aww yogi how exciting
going to go
night yogi and summer

Goodnight Ros, sweet dreams.
Love that bride and groom.
Goodnight Summer, sweet dreams.
Good morning everyone
A bit foggy here, but forecast to lift.
I watched an old Ginger Rogers film called Bachelor Mother, it also had David Niven in. If it ever gets shown again on television it's worth watching it as you would like it. It was shown on BBC2 and is not available on iPlayer.
Good morning everyone. Weather is mild and cloudy.
Got a bit of running about to do today but will catch up later on.
Have a good day everyone.
Good morning everyone, it's managing to be cool, misty and humid all at the same time today. I don't like it, it's very heavy. How clever Yogi giving your fascinator a haircut, I'm glad you've got it the way you like it now. We will need loads of piccies from the big day of course.
Hope you are maybe feeling a bit brighter today Moonie, hope to see you soon. Lots of lovely pancakes Summer
You may remember Felix Baumgartner who last year broke the record for sky-diving.
A few days ago, the record was broken (just) but somehow I don't think Guinness will accept it as a new record
For more about this:

I did have a look for any video clips but although there are a couple they are uninteresting and unispiring so I haven't bothered to post them.

I'm just relieved that he was found safe and as well as could be expected. If I had fallen such a long way I would have had the stuffing knocked out of me

I'm falling asleep, so I need to sign out.
Leaving hugs for Summer and any other night owls.
Good morning everyone
Very cloudy here.
Summer, you certainly had a busy day yesterday. Nice owl picture
Summer, does Bramble do the packing and unpacking and carry the back pack to and from the car
Good morning everyone, Bramble looks so sweet sitting there I liked your comment about the sky diving teddy bear EL I hope you have a less frantic day today Summer I love those owls. Hope you slept well Yogi.
Good morning everyone. A nice bright day up here.
@ Bramble's expression. You can tell by the way she is looking at her backpack that she knows she is off to your SiL's to play with the other dogs.
I hope you don't have too many impatient mums to deal with today, Summer.
I did sleep well, thanks Squiggle.
Have a good day everyone.
Lucky Bramble has another SiL to take care of her. She obviously likes going to visit her.
You have probably seen the London to Brighton train journey speeded up to 4 minutes on television years ago. The original was made 60 years ago and they repeated this 30 years ago. The BBC has repeated the journey and have made a clip which shows the 3 versions side by side.

Love the clip, El.
The strange thing is, it looks less industrial, with more greenery in the 2013 film than it does in the 1953 film. I wonder if that's down to the 1953 clip being in black and white, rather than the true picture.
Yogi, it's difficult to say. The 1953 part being in black and white may have given a false impression but it's probably correct.
The proportion of people in England and Wales who worked in manufacturing in 1951 was about 38%. By 2011 that had fallen to 15%. Far more people work in the service industry now compared to 50 years ago. Service industry does not need to have the space needed by manufacturing. And it does not need to be close by the railway lines but for heavy manufacturing, close proximity to the railway was critical for transporting goods.

I think your explanation sounds correct, El.
It's a fascinating film clip, makes your eyes go a bit funny, I was like someone at Wimbledon, thanks for posting EL.

I know what you mean about Wimbledon.
