Summer, the Plantaganet Alliance who are the people behind the campaign to have Richard III's remains buried at York would expect them to be interred in the Minster. He was the last king of the House of York.
The judge who will make the decision will need the wisdom of Solomon as both sides cannot win.
York seems a good choice, York is one of those cities I would love to visit. The Minster would seem to be fitting.
Have a nice evening EL - you too Summer It's a lovely picture
Good evening all
Just popped in to say hi
Still not feeling brilliant but hope to be back soon
Take care everyone
Good morning everyone
Cloudy but dry here at present, tons of rain forecast for later.
Moonie, lovely to see you. Sorry to hear you are still poorly and hope you feel better soon
Summer, I was forgetting that Bettys is in York as well as Harrogate.
Good morning everyone. It has been raining overnight but is dry atm.
Moonie, lovely to see you and I hope you feel well enough to come back again soon.
I've only been to York once but it was lovely and I'd like to go back again. York Minster is a beautiful cathedral.
Have a good day everyone.
Well said Summer, moonie you have been on my mind, take care now. Lovely to see you again Yogi
I would so love to see York, York Minster especially and of course have afternoon tea at Betty's. I have just lost the travel bug since I lost my hubby, I'm a stay at home girl now.
Have a good day everyone, I love your morning owl picture EL.
Joe, Mr Yogi likes a trawl through the charity shops up here (for old cookery books) and agrees that prices have risen quite considerably.
Lovely to see you Yogi
GJ and Yogi, there was something on the radio news the other day about the prices in charity shops shooting up. I think that they've been putting up prices as there has been a squeeze on donations coming in but they said that the prices were still a good bargain.
Recently a new channel called True Entertainment started on Freeview - channel 61. There's no mention of it in the Radio Times.
It seems to show old American television series things like The Waltons, Little House on the Prairie and The Winds of War. It also shows American television movies presumably based on true stories. It may be worth your while looking to see what's on this channel to see if there's anything of interest. It also seems to be showing on Friday evenings at 11pm films of a very different nature - European subtitled films. Yesterday they showed a 1979 German film made by Rainer Werner Fassbinder who was the leading German film director of the 1970s - a really heavy-weight for art house film fans. Next Friday it's the French The Return of Martin Guerre which starred Gerard Depardieu - you may have seen the American remake - Sommersby.

Hi El.
I have True Entertainment as part of my Virgin package but I didn't know it had been added to Freeview. I love The Waltons. When I was young, I used to wish I had a big brother like John Boy.
Me too Yogi and a Grampa like Grampa - I've got the box set, I'm slowly working my way through it. I loved the early ones especially.

Will Geer was brilliant in that role.
I have Seasons 1,2 and 3 but I ought to get the rest - although I wasn't as keen on the seasons which didn't include Richard Thomas and Michael Learned (John Boy and Livvy/Momma).
Nor me, I thought it lost it's way a bit later on.
Nor me, I thought it lost it's way a bit later on.
I agree.
Still one of my all time favourite series from my youth.
The Waltons series was based on the creator's earlier book Spencer's Mountain. That was made into a film in 1963.
Henry Fonda played Clay Spencer : became John Walton snr (Ralph Waite)
Maureen O'Hara played Olivia Spencer : became Olivia Walton (Michael Learned)
James MacArthur played Clayboy Spencer : became John-Boy Walton (Richard Thomas)
Donald Crisp played Grandpa Zubulon Spencer : became Grandpa Zebulon Walton (Will Geer)
Lillian Bronson played Grandma Spencer : became Grandma Esther Walton (Ellen Corby)
El, I have seen that film, and also the pilot for The Waltons which starred Patricia Neal as the original Momma. If I remember correctly, she suffered a stroke and was replaced by Michael Learned. (I much preferred Michael Learned in the role).
Edit: ^^^^not quite correct. She had earlier suffered cerebral aneurysms and the producers thought the grind of a weekly series might prove too much for her, which is why Michael Learned replaced her.
Yes I saw the film too, both of 'em and I'm sure you're right about Patricia Neal suffering that stroke. I too prefer Michael Learned
Patricia Neal had a series of massive strokes in 1965. Her husband at the time Roald Dahl directed her extensive therapy. The producers of The Waltons didn't ask her to be in the series as they had misgivings about her health. She did continue to act and her final appearance in a film was in 2009.
Especially for moonie, hope you feel much better soon and can post regularly again, a special owl picture with a moon
Great pic, Squiggle.

Awwww fanks Squiggle. Its lovely
Moonie! How are you feeling today? We do miss you, you know.
Good to be back.
Okay.
Weekend has been good, so far. Had middle son and his fiancÃĐe for dinner tonight - lots of wedding talk. Was minding Harv, so Keira was happy.
I think eldest son, DiL and PB are coming for dinner tomorrow.
Youngest son and his GF are off on holiday. Got a text to say they arrived safely. All is well.
Do you have anything planned for tomorrow?
A long lie sounds like a good idea.
Yes, we are all getting excited now, not long to go!
PB won't be at the wedding, everyone felt she is too little and DiL and son would have been on edge, wondering if she might start crying during the ceremony. Her other grandmother will be looking after her, so she'll be well taken care of.
I know exactly what you mean, it feels like she has always been with us.
Yes, accessories are all sorted, panic is over. *phew*
