Hello all   It's hottish and humid here sadly I was looking forward to fresher weather.

The forum's back - down since early morning. The Hoop.la twitter page says there was a glitch in the system. The glitch affected many other sites including the Social Strata help forum.

It's sunny here, but feels quite muggy and sticky.

Pleased to hear you've got some shopping in, Moonie. I can stop fretting about your empty cupboards now.

Squiggle, I bet your pond looks lovely now. Mr Yogi used to dread cleaning out ours (at our last house, not this one) but it always looked great once it was done.

I've had a visit from my eldest son and DiL and am now topped up with PB cuddles. Youngest son returned today when he heard his niece was visiting, and middle son and his fiancée are coming for tea, so I will have had the full set visiting today.

 

Just watched To Rome With Love, not a great movie, Woody Allen, I wouldn't have taped it if I'd known it was one of his, I'm not a fan BUT there was a guy in it who maybe the finest living tenor,  see what you think

Maybe that's why I can't shift any weight - there's always food to munch on, in my house!

It's sunny and dry here at present but yesterday afternoon, evening & overnight it was rain non-stop. More rain in the forecast every day. Much of northern England has amber warning for heavy rain so take care if you are travelling anywhere.

 

Looks as if things are back to normal with the robot sent packing.

 

We are having a pleasant weekend, not doing anything wildly exciting. My brother goes back to London later this afternoon. His next visit is scheduled for the first weekend in September so just after the train line closure is due to end.

I've just dropped my brother off at the railway station. No rain here so far today though it is forecast.

 

You may remember my posts back in mid May about the jewellry thefts at Cannes and the film To Catch a Thief which was shown on television at that time. I decided to record the film but hadn't got around to watching it. Yesterday evening I let my brother choose a film to watch and he chose To Catch a Thief. I've seen it before. It's one of Hitchcock's lightest films and is closer to a romance rather than a Hitchcock thriller.

 

I hadn't bothered looking at the news over the past couple of days and I saw this news item posted this afternoon.

It's just as well that I was in church this morning as was my brother so we have witnesses that we were here this morning and not in Cannes But it is a bit spooky.

 

I was going to watch an end of the world film tonight but you will be relieved to hear that I've changed my mind

Squiggle. I'm fairly certain I was in church and what looked like my brother was there as well. Of course it's possible that he was a look-a-like and the real one had gone over to Cannes. I'm sure the French authorities will find the true culprit as they have their best man on the case:

PB was in brilliant form. She's such a wee sweetie. She fell asleep in my arms, so I got lots of cuddles.
