Keira does that sometimes, and she has a weak stomach to start with.

Good morning everyone

A reasonably sunny and dry day here today but showers/rain forecast from tomorrow and looks like it will be unsettled for quite some time. The great British summer looks to be making a comeback.

My brother is coming here later this afternoon for a weekend visit. He'll probably bring some cakes with him but I don't know what they will be. The trainline between Kemble and Swindon (which is the line between Gloucester and London) will be closed for much of August into the beginning of September. Quite a lot of the line between Kemble and Swindon is single track and the closure will be to create a second track. This has been the intention for many years and it will finally be done. Inconvenient for people during the closure (I assume that either buses will replace the train or the train will be diverted down to Bristol Parkway and then on to Swindon leading to longer times) but once done there should be a considerable improvement as they will be able to have trains going in opposite directions at the same time.

I don't know what was causing the problems here last night but Lori seems to have been aware of it and it seems OK today.

El Loro

Good morning everyone.  Enjoy your visit with your brother EL, ooh cakes to look forward to

Bramble doesn't learn does she?  My grandson's dog Tilly is the same, always finding disgusting things on the beach and then being sick.

We are forecast rain each day for the next 10 days and much cooler temperatures but I am ready for a change, I was finding the night times a little uncomfortable.

Have a good day everyone.

Nope, I am useless at guess 'who done it'

Errands complete.

I think the problem with dogs is that they aren't able to make the link between eating something, and being sick several hours later. It's the same when they do something naughty - there's no point ticking them off, unless you actually catch them in the act, otherwise they haven't a clue what why they are in trouble.

Does that make sense? - well, I know what I mean.

Talking of lunch, I popped to the shops for a newspaper and had to pass the chip shop. I was very tempted but managed to resist. I am going to have a chicken and salad sandwich (using a lettuce from my garden).

El, I presume the railway will make alternative arrangements for people who want to travel from London to Gloucester during the upgrade work?

Would I be right in assuming that WWF is effectively online Scrabble? Not that I'm going to start playing it.

My mother was hooked on Murder She Wrote and Perry Mason and later Diagnosis Murder. Although she saw Columbo and Kojak and virtually all of the American detective shows of that era her favourite of that era was Ironside (AKA A man called Ironside). Although I watched many of them over the years I can't say I was hooked on any of them. My favourite series over the years were The Avengers, the original Star Trek series, the Star Trek - Voyager series (some of the stories were extraordinarily deep dealing with subjects such as holocaust denial and life after death).
