I war rummaging through some boxes the other day and found a Scottish one pound note
My middle son was given some ÂĢ1 notes last week. Tbh, we don't see many of them around, although they are still legal tender.
I'm back from the dental hygienist in one piece. Not too bad thought I have to go back in August. She used an ultrasonic device rather then the water thing that squiggle's hygienist uses.
Summer, I agree that Jane Austen looked very fresh faced. She died when she was only 41 which is why you won't find any pictures of her as older.
The Royal Bank of Scotland still continues to issue some ÂĢ1 bank notes:

I'm glad you survived your S&P ordeal, El.

Hi Yogi I was up in Scotland, Glasgow and Edinburgh, 20 odd years ago. It must be left over from then

Shame we didn't speak then, or you could have popped in for some tea and cakes.
A couple of weeks ago the treasurer at our church was counting the money and came across a Scottish banknote (I think it was a Clydesdale bank note). She was a bit puzzled as to if the bank would accept it but I reassured her that it was legal tender and English banks would accept them without question.
I'm so glad that your trip to the hygienist was not too bad EL, will it be more of the same on the next visit? I am back to the hygienist next week but am promised a pleasant experience where they remove any last lingering stains with an airflow device.
Squiggle, yes it will be, The hygienist did less than half as we hadn't seen each other before so she spent some of the time talking with me about my teeth, what she would do and general advice.
I know it's an ordeal EL, anything to do with teeth seems to be but just imagine if we didn't force ourselves to brave the dentists chair we don't have much choice do we?

How is your day going and how are you?
Mr Yogi has the day off, so I dragged him round Morrisons (actually he doesn't mind food shopping, as he loves to eat) and we had lunch in their cafe. Then we came home and vegged out.
I will be industrious tomorrow, to make up for my slothful ways today.

Sound like a little to energetic for me
I hope you enjoyed your lunch

Are you watching Frost or will you be joining us for CDWM?

Torrential rain now.
Thunderstorm atm!
No lightning but the thunder was noisy.

Phew!
My mother believed that it was dangerous to make phone calls when there was thunder and lightning in case the telephone cable got struck. That's not an urban myth and there are cases of people being electrocuted as a result. Of course that's more likely if you are living in a house which is higher than other houses such as on a hill. Also it couldn't apply to Virgin Media cable lines as they are at ground level and are made of optical cable.

A few weeks ago I had a new Virgin super hub to replace my old Virgin modem. Its rubbish
Moonie, I still use a router with my Virgin broadband. If I do change the router for one of those super hubs I will have it wired to my computer rather than wireless as
a) I have the one computer so don't need wireless
b) as I do people's tax returns I transit confidential information via broadband so need to minimise the risk of some character out in the road trying to hack in
and c) I am fairly certain that quite a few of the problems with flaky connection with super hubs are resolved by using wired rather than wireless connection. Wired is more reliable than wireless.
Summer, Lori has replied to your problem with access to your royal baby thread and you will see that she agrees with the posting I made there. It's likely to be only a few days before the app ceases and you will need to get used to using the mobile version.

Thing is El, three lappys and desktop are used in various parts of the house, very seldom all at one time, so hard wiring is out.

After an initial hiccup, my hub has been fine, although it doesn't have the range of the old router, so I can't use my ipad when I am sitting in the back garden.
What problems are you having with yours, Moonie?

Mostly its slower Yogi. I know I have been moaning about this forum of late but even FB is slower with this hub.

Mine was really slow so I phoned up and they changed the 'channel' I was on, and it's been great ever since. Might be worth giving them a call.

Now that sounds like a good idea. Fanks Yogi

I hope you get it sorted. 'Exaggerate' how slow it is and how long you've had the problem.
