I do know who the Queen and the Prime Minister are, so maybe I could blag it.

Awww  I have days like that all the time

Good morning everyone, the site has been OK, so far, for me

There's a lovely cool breeze at the moment, bliss, they reckon it's going to be much hotter next week.  Loads of people have died in lakes and rivers trying to cool off and I saw on the TV that the fire brigade in London are putting out 20 grass fires a day.

So I hope you all manage to stay cool.  Moonie I'm glad you're feeling a bit better.  Summer I hope you and Mr Summer are OK today

Moonie, I'm glad you are starting to feel a bit better

There was a forum software update yesterday evening which is why it was so coggy here - should be back to normal by now.

It was still very coggy when I tried to send my first post this morning, El.

Yogi, I have noticed that there seems to be a delay on pages loading when it tries to access some site called cdm.syndication.twimg. com (space put in to stop this being a hyperlink). That could be what is causing you problems.

If you see that your browser loading icon is still whirling when you go onto a page, halt the loading of the page by clicking on the icon and then try to make your post to see if that helps.

I did a couple of broadband speed tests using two different sites. One automatically uses a US connection, the other chooses the fastest and so could be anywhere.

The first one was noticeably slower than the second. So it's possible that there is some server slowdown across the Atlantic and that would explain the problems. If that's the case there is nothing that we or Social Strata can do about it but it's likely to be short term.

Good, let's hope it stays that way.

Good afternoon a bit overcast here today but still very warm Both mr summer and my mum have fallen asleep on the sofas so I thought I'd pop in to say hello I'm going to read a quick chapter of my book if I can. Yesterday went very well indeed, all the proceedings went very smooth, all the estranged members of the family were talking to each other and several of us stayed until almost 10pm drinking & chatting. It turned out to be a brilliant evening the food was good and the funeral director was absolutely super, I cannot fault a thing We're taking my mum out to her favourite place to eat tonight, she's leaving for home tomorrow No royal baby yet I see, I hope Kate isn't too uncomfy in this heat Yogi, I bet those starling were quite a sight! Moonie, I hope you continue to feel a bit better
