I am not much for mens tennis Sweet. To serve and big hitting orientated for me.
Its such a shame for her Sweet. I feel so for her, you and the family

I hope to watch the men's final tomorrow - Come On Andy!
I'm sure they must have something to ease the bed sores, but it must be difficult not to get them when you are so immobile.
I'm sure they will do all they can Sweet. Lets hope she is on the road to recovery very soon. Positive thoughts
Its would be nice for a home player to win but I dont think he will
I love your reasons for supporting Murray.
I'm sure MiL and Mr Summer appreciate everything you are doing to help.

Wash your mouth out with soap, Moonie! Positive thoughts are what we need!

Sorry, but I dont think it will happen Yogi. The last time I said that Murray won the Olympic title
We live in hope Sweet but plan for the worst but hope for the best
Even if I could pronounce it I couldn't spell it Sweet
Well done Sweet

In that case, keep saying he won't win.

I think if Murray wins the first set then he has a good chance
Hopefully not too close, as my nerves will be frazzled.
Off to bed now, see you tomorrow.
Goodnight Moonie and Summer, sweet dreams.
I found this owl, it looks like he's doing a jig.

Love the owl Yogi
Goodnight. Sleep well and have a happy Sunday. Sweet dreams
We will never know Sweet
True
Good morning everyone
Sunny and warm here.
The music from the festival was more noticeable yesterday evening but when I watched some television I put on those headphones. I didn't need to switch on the noise reducing bit. I don't think they can have been playing the music as loud as say Glastonbury.
Summer, I hope your MIL can be kept as comfortable as possible by the doctors & nurses
I think Murray has a better chance of winning today than last year as having won the Olympics and the US Open since has got rid of that nagging thought that he couldn't quite make it as a champion. Djokovic is a formidable opponent and the match does have the potential to be a classic.
I watched a Woody Allen film (Manhattan Murder Mystery) last night. I'm not a great fan of his films but this was one of his more light hearted films. One of the pieces of music used was also used in The Artist (and in the trailer) so here's the full Benny Goodman's Sing Sing Sing:
Good morning everyone. Weather is cloudy up here, atm.
That was a big owl, Moonie!
Glad the festival wasn't too noisy, El.
Mr Yogi and eldest son were talking about pickling onions this afternoon. The house will stink of onions and everyones' eyes will be watering. I feel a visit to the garden centre coming on.
Good morning everyone, hope you are all coping with the heat (seems funny to be saying that after the never-ending winter). So sorry to hear about your MiL's bedsores Summer, so uncomfortable for her.
Don't forget the suncream
Good morning Buddies
It surprised me too Yogi. Just call me the 'big owl man'
*Passes anti-onion spray to Yogi*
Sweet, I hope your MIL is in less discomfort today
El, glad the festival noise wasn't to bad
Hi Squiggle
Have a good day everyone
I'm back from church (walking of course). I didn't get a chance to talk with her, but the soon-to-be vicar was in the congregation. She doesn't officially become the vicar for another 10 days or so but has moved into the vicarage. She would have been in the congregation as a way of seing how our services are run (at present) and to get to know people.
I'm glad you managed to get to church EL, I hope the new vicar works out well for the church.
Hi Summer do you have a colour in your head and it's just a question of finding it on the colour charts? I have been known to snap a picture from the TV if I see a colour I like. Hi moonie hope you have been sleeping better.
Thanks for posting the sunshine, Squiggle. It has finally arrived up here.
Thanks for the anti-onion spray, Big Owl Man, it will come in handy this afternoon.
@ Summer posting in the wrong thread. A lot of FMs have been doing that recently.
Which colours are you considering for your hallway?
Good idea for your soon-to-be vicar to join the congregation today, El. It is a good way for her to get a feel for the church and the people.
Mr Yogi is listening to music with headphones on, but I can still hear the music. He was listening to Julio Iglesias singing To All The Girls I've loved Before. I really wonder about that man! Then he started listening to Gangnam Style, so I started chair bopping - then it was his turn to roll his eyes.
The term Big Owl put the idea of Brownies in mind (particularly the names their leaders adopt) so I did a quick Google search and found this forum page. It's far too long to copy and paste here but it's worth having a look at.
Yogi, it's a good idea that new vicars get to know their church and the people rather than just taking over. Although there are refreshments in the church hall after the institution & induction service (that's the extremely formal service where the new vicar is made the vicar), the service is so heavyweight and the numbers of people attending are big, that the new vicar has no chance to get to know people at that stage.

I'm old-fashioned and prefer the idea of Brownie leaders being called Brown Owl, Tawny Owl etc.

Did you have tea and refreshments after your Sunday service today, where she could chat informally to people?
