I'm not sure, maybe not until the weekend. My son tends to phone and say "We were thinking of popping up to see you", then they arrive within the hour. I don't usually get a lot of notice.

It will have to be soon though or you will get..little pink bundle withdrawal symptoms..

Oh so that's where the word atlas came from! Good morning all sunny but a cool breeze here, it's going to be a nice day. The radio this morning says a study had found that a certain percentage of (honest) patents have admitting to having a favourite child! I can honestly say I believe that, I'm very much loved but my mum definitely favours my brother

I don't have a favourite! I may love different qualities they each have, but I love my sons equally.

Though for the Greek myth purists, Atlas didn't support the Earth but stood right at the Western edge of the Earth and was supporting the sky from falling down on the Earth. It was the celestial globe he carried.

He'd been supporting the Titans in their war against the Olympians. The Titans were defeated and supporting the sky was Zeus's way of punishing him.

I have an encyclopaedia collection from the 1930's, it was my grandmothers. Her family weren't well off at all after her father got sick at a young age and she was given the books by a school teacher when the school got new ones, she knew my grandmother would love having them. I love that I now have them. I should really create a vintage display with them..!

Summer, I've too have an old encyclopaedia collection. 8 volumes in rather battered condition. No date on them.

Early morning weekend films on BBC2 this coming weekend. The pick of them seems to be the 1939 film Love Affair (Irene Dunne and Charles Boyer). Sunday 6.45 am. Was remade as An Affair to Remember (Deborah Kerr and Cary Grant).

I love those bookends.  My dentist is making noises about replacing a few fillings but the practice has recently been taken over and they have fancy new premises but they seem to be pushing expensive work, recommending that you go expensive private fillings etc.  So I am a little unsure whether I can trust their recommendations.  I said I will leave them for another 6 months.  I have just booked in for the hygienist in the meanwhile.

Those encyclopaedias sound like a real treasure Summer and ditto with your books on Greek myths EL.  An Affair To Remember is one of my favourite movies, I think I will set the Sky box to record the one with Irene Dunn and Charles Boyer to see how it compares.

It's a sad topic about favourite children.  I know it happens and I have seen it in my own family but I think it's such a sad thing

What a sweet pic.

Summer, are you thinking of getting those bookends?

Have you heard how your MiL is today?

Squiggle, I can understand why you are wary about getting the dental work done and I agree with your decision to wait 6 months and see how things go.

I love the film, An Affair To Remember - I love Cary Grant films.

I don't know very much about Greek Mythology. I really ought to read more about it, as I'm sure I would find it interesting.
