I see on the BBFC website that the Hitchcock film "Dial M for Murder" (Grace Kelly & Ray Milland) is getting a cinema re-release in late July. I don't know if this will be on general release or limited. The reason I mention this is because it will be released in 3D. The film was originally made in 3D so this isn't a re-working and is available on disc in 3d format.

 I think you're right.

Mr Yogi also hates the fact that they never tell him he should be paying less tax or is due a rebate.

I love this film and have it on DVD.

In the last couple of weeks BBC2 has been showing some old B&W films early on Saturday and Sunday mornings. They seem to be films which are rarely shown. There's a couple this coming weekend which may be worth recording.

On Saturday at 7.15 am they are showing a 1933 film called Star of Midnight. It's a comedy mystery starring William Powell (a year after he made the first The Thin Man film) but with Ginger Rogers.

Then on Sunday at 7.00 am they are showing Christopher Strong (1933) which is a romantic melodrama. This is Katherine Hepburn's second film. The leading man is played by Colin Clive who was popular in the 1930s until his very early death aged only 37. His most famous role was as Henry Frankenstein in the classic Boris Karloff Frankenstein films. This film was directed by Dorothy Arzner who was the only woman director in Hollywood during the 1920s to early 40s.

^ thank you Squiggle *sets sky planner to record* Had a late night, busy day, and then a busy evening, so heading off to bed now. Sweet dreams everyone I hope you enjoyed the good weather today (For the record, I think everyone gets scared of talking to the tax office, but at the end of the day they are only human too and the only time I've had to speak to them, they were really kind and helpful)

Yellow Rose I think you're right, I think in that film he was a lawyer but stood as a politician to try to get justice, it was a fascinating and very different film.  I would like to see all his movies again too and I don't think I've seen the one you mention EL, I'm a big fan of Myrna Loy though, I will keep a look out for that one and any other of his movies.

Owls are very magical   I found a little nest on my drive yesterday, must have blown down.  No sign of eggs or baby birds so hopefully they have all hatched and flown.  It was the cleverest construction, mainly of moss - plenty in my lawn - and fluffy white stuff which looked like cushion filling, don't know where that came from.

I'm glad like me you enjoyed his interview Squiggle. I also liked  that we saw some of his film clips, they brought back nice memories of films enjoyed El I don't remember that film either.

Yogi, your mention of a swing seat reminded me I've occasionally wished there were playgrounds for adults with swings etc lol. As a child I loved the swings, slide and roundabout in the local park, is there an age when we shouldn't want to still enjoy that kind of fun .

Summer, I watched a property programme earlier and in one house they had some lovely cushions which reminded me of you Loving all the owl pics, I want to hang out late at night again with an owl, two night owls together

Yellow Rose

Good morning everyone

A lot cloudier here today than recently but not expected to be any rain.

I saw The Man who Knew Too Much fairly recently. There's another Hitchcock film being shown next week - "I Confess" (1953). One of his most serious films about a Roman Catholic priest being told by a murderer about his crime during a confession in church. As a result the priest is unable to tell to police about anything that the murderer told him and lands up by becoming the prime suspect. Montgomery Clift played the priest.

If any of you saw Eastenders last night with Dot Branning being interviewed as a possible churchwarden, her understanding of what a churchwarden's duties are was so absurd and showed that the writers had made no attempt to understand what a churchwarden does.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Churchwarden gives a better idea.

Good morning everyone. We have had a light shower of rain but I think it is to brighten up.

Thanks everyone for the heads up about forthcoming films, I've set my V+ to record them.

YR, I like your idea of a play park for adults, as I do like a bit of a swing - although I wouldn't want to go as high as I used to as a child.

Sorry I missed you last night, Ros and Moonie.

Have a good day everyone.

Edit: I gave up watching Eastenders last year, but it amazes me how many times tv programmes get things wrong. You would think they would check things out.

Good morning Play park?! Yes please! Actually, I must confess to frequently having a go on the zip wire in a park when I'm walking the dog. If no one's about I climb up on it and call "bramble! Bramble! Look at me..!!!!" she's not interested of course, too busy sniffing about the place What were the cushions like yellow rose? I almost bought an owl one the other day but the colours weren't quite right Glad you all enjoyed the owl last night I saw a bit of springwatch too, thoroughly enjoyed it Heading out now, will come back later though. Have a lovely day everyone

Good to have you back, Moonie.

I have been reseeding some patches on the back lawn, where Keira had caused some yellow patches. All that bending up and down is exhausting for someone as unfit as me. I need a cup of tea now.

lol at Summer on the zip wire. Way to go, girl!

Fanks Yogi  If I took everything out of my lawns that wasn't grass. There would just a few blades of grass and a lot of brown patches  A good long soak will be required tonight then Yogi

Good and good what mischief have you been up to today? It's been busy yogi, they've admitted MIL so we had to come all the way home for her overnight stuff & medicines etc and then go back. Luckily they let us in even though visiting hours were closed and thankfully SIL had bramble for the day, she's perfectly tired out tonight
