I used to think that when we got hiccups, it was because our heart had stopped beating and that was our body's way of restarting it. I was just a kid at the time though Yogi I'm glad you enjoyed your pancakes shame about your syrup, but less calories is good news I was seriously tempted to eat all of mine but decided to be kind and leave some for mr summer to have later I've done lots of housework since too, so now I'm having a rest with the tennis on

I was sitting next to someone at church and her daughter was sitting with her, and the daughter is petrified of spiders and said she would never be able to sleep again. I reassured her at church by saying that putting a pot plant by her bed would draw the spiders to the plant. I've emailed her mother with what I've posted here.

That's genius el! I hope the daughter is able to sleep tonight bless her I toyed with idea of going to the cinema but decided to stay home and watch Harvey instead, I can still be with Bramble this way

I've had a reply from the mother thanking me. Her husband had also checked and had reassured their daughter.

I've since rang the curate and told her what I had found and about the daughter. She was a bit embarrased by it but said that she had said 8 spiders in a lifetime but that's not we heard.

 

When I watched Harvey (that's the James Stewart 1950 film) years ago I was a bit disappointed that I didn't get to see Harvey himself 

 

Well you wouldn't EL now would you?   I remember watching it when I was a child and it was very puzzling to me.

Phew! I was thinking I was going to disappoint Everyone by saying I was disappointed by Harvey, I wanted to see a great big bunny! The female relations were full of nonsense really but I like James Stewart very much, and the doctor/nurse couple. It was lovely to see a b&w movie again.

I think I could watch James Stewart in just about anything.  Two of my favourites though Spirit of St Louis and The Glenn Miller Story with the fascinating June Allyson.

I haven't seen either of those squiggle, but I love jazz so I should see the glen miller story! *adds to lovefilm list* thank you

I rented the Philadelphia story too, I've never seen it

The Spirit of St Louis is the story of Charles Lindbergh's solo flight across the Atlantic from New York to Paris in 1927.

I loved that film Summer, watch it for the lovely June Allyson too.  Yogi I didn't include It's A Wonderful Life because I almost think it goes without saying, it's in a league of it's own isn't it?

Great film, and I found it quite edge of the seat stuff, well Jimmy Stewart is so wonderful.

It is, Squiggle, you are quite right. It's a fantastic film, I love it!

Joining you both in appreciation of James Stewart The faves I can remember are Glen Miller Story, It's A Wonderful Life, Rear Window and Harvey. I'm sure there's a film where he played a lawyer but can't remember title. I also remember seeing him interviewed on the Michael Parkinson Show, such a lovely gentle man. He also read a lovely poem about his dog who'd passed, no dry eyes in the house.

The weather has been nice here today, so Mr Yogi went out and bought me one of those garden seat/swings. It's great and really relaxing to sit on. Just wondering how many days I'll get to use it this summer.
