This could only happen in the States - back in 2005:

Only in America: a US lawyer has managed to sue himself in a class-action lawsuit in Madison County, Illinois. Emert Wyss advised a client to sue Alliance Mortgage for charging a £30 'fax fee'. Wyss brought in three other law firms to handle the case and agreed to collect 10pc of the winnings. Unfortunately, he forgot that his own firm Centerre had collected the fee on behalf of Alliance. Wyss and Centerre are now added to the claim as third-party defendants.

I don't know what the result of the claim was.

I'm back from that client meeting which was as straightforward as I expected. As I was walking back to my car I saw another client so went to have a chat with him He told me that he was doing dome gardening for an elderly woman and her sister was there visiting her. As I have known the sister through church for many years I popped in to the garden to have a chat with them. That's why I haven't done much work this afternoon

I have reported myself to myself for skiving during working hours. This isn't the first time it's happened and so I have decided to sack myself, and will now make a claim against myself for unfair dismissal.

True, but I could pay myself redundancy pay, claim tax relief against my profit for the amount paid, and provided the redundancy payment was less than £25k I wouldn't have to pay tax.

And before anyone thinks that's a good tax dodge, it wouldn't work as I'm not an employee.

It's a Friday afternoon

Hi Moonie I've had my youngest son in for one of his flying visits.

 a flying son. That's a novelty Yogi 

 He's like a whirlwind. He flies in, grabs a sandwich, changes out of his work uniform and goes up to his mates.

Good job you only get flying visits then  

He does come for longer, less manic visits too.

I miss him since he moved out. We used to have lovely, long chats together.

Awwwww  but at least he close and not at the other end of the country 

And you have the flying visits 

 Yes, I do have the flying visits - and we text and chat on the phone too.

We are very lucky with our three sons, they all live within a six mile radius of us and pop in regularly.
