Well as no-one has come back to the thread to guess the location I will tell you.  Its Compton Acres at Canford Cliffs near Bournemouth.  A wonderful garden full of different kind of gardens, a Roman Garden, Italian Garden, Woodland Garden (overlooking Poole Bay) Heather Garden, Water Garden and the best Japanese Garden I have ever seen.  Certainly worth a visit.

Signing out for the night as I will be watching the final upstairs away from the computer.

Hi  - this is a quick post.

I have been having major broadband connection problems today with zero access most of the time. I have been in touch with BT who aren't interested and my ISP who may be able to help or may decide that it's BT's problem. If they take that attitude, then the answer is simple - I'll move to Virgin as that sidetracks the BT line altogether.

At this present I do have a connection, though it may only last minutes. If you do not hear from me for a period of time - don't panic - it will mean that these broadband problems have restarted.

Hopefully I'll be able to continue posting without interuption.

Good morning everyone.
I didn't watch the final but I gather Josie won (surprise, surprise).
Having read that Ulrika is in UBB, I won't be watching that either.
I think this might be the right time for me to take a little break from the forum, as I won't be able to contribute to the threads.
I will be back when UBB ends, until then take care of yourselves.

Hi all - my broadband connection went off seconds after my post last evening. It stayed off, and when I tried putting the router in the phone test socket with no phone attached an hour ago, there was zero connection. But I've just noticed its come back at present, but I'm not hopeful it will stay on for long. These transient problems are the worst to sort out because you can guarantee that when an engineer calls, it will be working fine.

All I can say about the BB final was that at least Dave didn't win. And as for some of the ultimate BB housemates, their egos are so big I'm surprised they were able to get through the doors.

Yogi, you're always welcome here - I've been around here throughout BB and my interest in BB has been only passing.

Squiggle, let's hope the rain is'nt too bad in your parts. It is coming up to me later, but looking at the forecast, although I'll get a good inch of rain, it's not now forecast to be as bad as the forecast I saw yesterday which was 3 inches for me.

You remember I posted a comment a couple of days ago about Darnell's Hotel thread and other threads being deleted by accident.

I've just seen in Feedback, that Lori has confessed to this. what happened was that the originator of the threads affected asked to be de-registered from this forum. Lori did so, but hadn't realised that as a result all the threads were automatically deleted at the same time as the originator was.

Lori has said that they are working on a fix so that when someone is deregistered, their threads aren't deleted at the same time.

Afternoon everyone.  Just another very quick visit.  Having a really busy time with No.1 son and the grandchildren here until next Monday!!!  I'm looking forward to some peace in days to come.

Not impressed at all with the UBB HMs so I won't be watching.  I feel a little like Yogi.  I have nothing to contribute to any of the threads.

Broadband still playing up, but I have a connection at present. The problem is clearly a conflict between phone and broadband as the problem can be set off at present merely by picking up the phone, but then the problem can be temporarily cleared by receiving another phone call. I think the problem is weather related as yesterday was very windy, and of course today is wet. And I have installed brand new filters so this is nothing to do with filters.

You may remember that over in the News forum I created a thread which linked direct to the old Freddie's Fanclub.

I've just revised that thread (and the title) so that you can easily find the latest post on Ben's Buddies in a couple of seconds.

So that if Joyron and Yogi and anyone else take a short break, just pop over to the News forum, look for the obvious thread, click on the link I have created and here you'll be. There's so little activity on the News forum that it won't be difficult to find.

Good morning

It started raining here late yesterday morning and it hasn't stopped, though it's not so heavy now. Looking at the forecasts shows that this lightish rain will continue until evening. Bu then things start to improve and we could be having a reasonable bank holiday weekend. Strangely enough we are just at the end of the 40 day period after St Swithin's day - but that's just a coincidence (or is it?)

Good morning everyone, guess what its pouring here, there's a change   Thanks for bumping the thread EL, I am not superstitious but it is an interesting fact.  We were due for rain as the first half of the year was very dry to my recollection and we did have the torrential rain about teatime yesterday, my gutters couldn't cope and it just poured over.

Yes I thought Ben looked very very handsome in his red jacket Skylark.  Most guys would have looked a twonk in it but he carried it off well.  I am glad he's not going into UBB though are you?  I think they're a funny bunch in there and I think he would struggle, too many huge egos!

Good morning Squiggle and El Loro.    It's pouring with rain here too, and has been since about 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon.

No.1 son and the grandchildren have gone off to a couple of hours so I'm enjoying a little peace and quiet.  My hairdresser has just left and I've made my final appointment for a cut a colour in 4 weeks time - 2 weeks before the cruise.  The time is really going by fast now!!

It is good to know that we can all catch up with our lovely thread via El Loro's link.  Like Yogi I probably won't be about much now until BB is over and done with.  At least now you won't have to struggle to keep the thread alive Squiggle, but we will all be able to get back into the thread in a couple of weeks.

I thought Ben looked great on finals night.  I'm glad he is not going back into the house.  From what I've read over on DS it looks as though Josie will be leaving very soon.  She's not getting on with the new HMs (that's not surprising).  Also she is missing JJ1, and I'm sure her mind is working twenty to the dozen wondering what he is getting up to on the outside without her!!

I'm just about to put on the radio to listen to the test match between England and Pakistan which atarts at Lords in a few minutes.  If England win or draw they win the series, if they lose then the series is drawn at 2 matches each.

The Pakistan players have already promised to give half their bonuses to the flood appeal.

Guess what! It's raining - no play for the time being (surprsie, surprise)

I am not superstitious
Neither am I. But then there was the man who as he was walking underneath a ladder saw a black cat walking across his path in front of him, then tripped smashing his brand new mirror which he had just bought. He was so upset that he went straight home. A week later he won the football pools jackpot and rang the pools company. But they couldn't find his entry - of course it was in that letter he forgot to post.when he had his mishap.

Some progress in my broadband connection problem. The ISP has just been on the phone to me doing various line tests and have now confirmed that my connection is a mess. The download and upload times are nowhere near where they should be.

As I was able to confirm to tham that I have changed the filters, tried using a different cable between the router and filter, tried the router with filter dirrect into the test socket, that this narrows down the possibilities to either the router is faulty or more likely that the test socket/junction box is faulty. They are sending me a complete replacement router and bits to try out. And if that also doesn't work which is what I expect, then they will finally get an engineer to come and sort out the test socket/junction box.

My phone system has the outside line coming into the house at the test socket/junction box. Then there are two leads, one going to the upstairs bedroom phone socket, and one to the downstairs front room phone socket. I think that the problem lies with that junction box.

The replacement equipment will arrive next Tuesday or Wednesday.

It's just as well that I've got a bit of patience, but there is a limit - at least the person who rang me seems to be OK (and his birthday was on Tuesday).
