I do hope so! Keira will pine if she doesn't get some time in the sun - I've got a tanorexic dog.

Then we have to have a decent summer even if it is just for Keira  How is she now, btw?

She's good thanks, Moonie. I think she is missing my son's labrador though.

We usually have him a couple of days each week when DiL is working, but I don't have to mind him whilst DiL is on maternity leave. They did see each other about a week ago and were so excited, they went on like a couple of pups.

That's great to hear  I can just imagine *excited pups* thing  My niece has a Staffy and no matter how many time you go in, in a day she is all over you *like a rash* just like a pup even though she is 7 now  When you have all that *muscle and teeth* and rushing at you, you would think, if you didn't know her, she was vicious. But no just natural exuberance

Staffies are lovely, friendly little dogs (when they aren't in the care of stupid thugs). Mr Yogi says that no matter how difficult his day is at work, he always gets a wonderful welcome when he comes home............from the dog!

Awww that sweet  Norty Yogi for not welcoming Mr Yogi home as well as Keira does

Bath was followed by a marathon phone call with my mum (all calls with my mum tend to be long ones). It seems I made the mistake of thinking I could go out for the day without letting her know. She had tried to phone me several times today and I was not in! Gestapo interrogation techniques were applied and I gave in and told her where I went.

Oh yes she has, Moonie. Sometimes I can laugh about it and at other times it makes me . Luckily for her, I was in the mood to laugh about it tonight.

I was wondering where she is. I wonder if she's at the hospital or round at her MiL's.

Then again, she might just have nodded off.

Nitey nite Yogi. Its been my pleasure too  Sleep well and have a good day tomorrow

Hope all is okay with you Sweet and your MIL

Good morning everyone, it's so cold I've got the central heating on.  Has yours come on automatically EL as I know it's automatically triggered when the temperature drops?

I did have to laugh at your Mum's Gestapo tactics Yogi, treasure her, one day she won't be around to phone you

There's a big black cloud hovering and it looks a thoroughly unpleasant day, are we starting winter all over again?

squiggle
I'm back! El & Squiggle, I hope those gales don't hit your areas too hard, I see your end of the country has the highest warning for it Lol at yogi's mum MIL had the same again at the hospital the doctor didn't give her the drip for antibiotics, despite her GP sending her twice for it, they simply rearranged how she takes her pill antibiotics and sent her home. She was feeling rotten too so forbade mr summer kicking up any fuss! She has a very rare skin condition that most doctors never see, so naturally the hospital doctor didn't have a clue about it. She was told her infection is simply part of her condition, but in the 30 years she's had it, it's never ever looked like it does right now. We're keeping a very close eye on her and I've suggested she ring her usual hospital to bring forward her regular check up, and I'll take her on my day off
~Sparkling Summer~

Summer, I hope your MIL is OK

My mother had a fairly rare skin disease at one time called Bowen's disease. It was successfully treated before it developed into something more serious. It was a mystery as to why she developed it in the first place as the most common cause is considerable long term exposure to sunlight for people with fair skin which made that unlikely. The other cause is exposure to arsenic . No-one would have been trying to poison her but for some years she worked in a factory and it is possible that she might have been exposed to arsenic there. At that time, the health and safety laws did not exist.

Your poor MiL Summer she is really going through the mill at the moment.  I am rapidly losing faith in the NHS.  Can you ask her GP to insist she is given the drip, after all if he is recommending that she has it why aren't they doing it? You really have to be prepared to kick up a fuss lately.  I hope she's not getting down about it all.

squiggle

Squiggle, yes, my central heating did come on this morning. The boiler's not firing at this precise moment but the radiators are still warm. It's likely that the heating will be on much of the day unless the clouds break and there's sunshine to naturally warm up the rooms. The temperature for tomorrow and Sunday is forecast to be warmer though. I get my gas through British Gas and they have said that because of the long cold winter they are not expecting to increase prices for the time being. I think people's heating bills must be horrific this year and it's a nightmare for those on low income faced with the choice of staying warm and going without meals or eating and being cold.

I'm trying to be as economical as possible, I just had the heating on for a couple of hours this morning but I think I will pop it back on again for a while soon.

More power to Mr Summer's elbow   I don't know whether hospitals are trying to save money but nowadays we need to be prepared to speak up, especially on behalf of those who don't like to make a fuss which includes many of the older generation.

I had meant to say EL well done on picking up that new client, and saving him money straight away.

Pirate, good to see you in here. I have been thinking of you.

Get the greyhounds to lie on your feet to heat them up.

Summer, I hope Mr Summer manages to get things sorted out for his mum. As Squiggle says, it seems you have to make a fuss to get anything done nowadays. I hope your MiL feels better soon.

I've been to do the weekly grocery shopping. It's shocking how little we get for our money atm.

Have a good day everyone, and keep warm.

That's even bigger that Mr Yogi's size 11's.

I only take a size 4 and my DiL wears size 2 or 3, depending on the brand. Son can put her dinky trainers inside his size 10 ones.

DiL and I are on the tiddly side (5ft 2 inches).
