I'm watching the programme about Battersea Dogs Home, and they have newborn puppies on it.

Then there are probably a lot of ooo's and ahhh's I suspect. Oh and the ocassional "I want one of them" 

Aww, one of the dogs has a cyst on his spine, causing difficulties with walking.  It will get progressively worse and eventually he will need to be put to sleep.

However, a nice lady is going to adopt him and let him toddle around her garden until the time comes.

 Definitely!

Awwww  You would think they could do something in this day and age, wouldn't you?

Thought so 

The vets at Battersea had even consulted specialist vets in America but there is nothing they can do.

The lady who adopted him has lots of other bulldogs and he seemed to be blissfully happy with them. At least he will spend whatever time he has left, in a happy place with someone who will take good care of him.

It's a real shame 

But, like you say, at least his last days will be happy ones 

 We need to give our doggies a happy life.

 

My dog is lying at my feet, I'm sort of using her as a footstool. Does that constitute canine abuse? 

Normally, she lies on my feet, which comes in handy in the winter.

If she thought she was being abused she would nip your toe no doubt 

At least in the winter you dont have to fill her up with hot water every so often, just food 

She would never nip me, she lubs me too much. Anyway, after a disastrous visit to kennels last year, when she tried to chew her way out through the metal bars (and lost 10 teeth in the process), biting isn't her strongpoint.

She still has enough teeth to chomp her way through her food, so she's quite happy.

Very cloudy here but dry, not as windy as yessterday.

 

Broadband connection this morning seems a bit intermittent.

Good morning a cool but sunny start here. The dinner last night was probably the best I've had in life! I put it down to not having a starter, and surprisingly, I scoffed the whole lot! Not even a little bit of left over fillet steak for bramble I'll order you some lunch to make up for the lack of doggy bag yogi El I hope your connection improves, I had trouble last night and ended up night owling on 3G!

When I was a young teenager my mother, my brother and I went to London to visit a friend of my mother's. At that time her friend's husband was wealthy and we had gammon for lunch. I had never had gammon before and that was probably the best meal I've ever had. It's either that or the chicken cacciatore I had at an Italian restaurant in Leeds a couple of times when I was working there back in the mid 90s.

All this talk of luscious food is making me hungry, I wish the weather would get it's act together it's so much more difficult to be good when it's blowing a gale and pouring down (and cold).

 

Both those meals sound delicious EL Italian food is definitely my favourite, hubby and I used to go to a little Italian Trattoria years ago where the couple who ran it (with all their family) used to treat us like members of the family and my hubby used to rave about their minestrone, it tasted nothing at all like the tinned variety, it was lush. I am glad your meal went so well Summer, food tastes so delicious when you have a sharp appetite.

It was an Italian we went to last night I love the bread appetisers with all the oils and garlic and balsamic vinegar... oh crumbs, I'm hungry now!

I don't know if it still exists but the Italian restaurant in Leeds was Sannino's Bar Brasserie in Merrion Street. Because it's off the main road, it's not possible to see it through Google maps.

Do they have a website? A lot of restaurants do now, and with menu's

I couldn't find a website and it's not mentioned on Yell. The only reference I found was on a business directory website which could be years out of date. So the chances are it closed some time ago.

I was going to say I love Italian food, but I just love food!

Mr Yogi has an Italian SiL who is a very good cook, and her mum was an amazing cook - huge portions and the most fantastic Italian food I have ever tasted.
