Good morning, it's raining here too. I like the smell of it I hope the wind has lessened, for all of us I'm taking MIL's car for it's MOT this morning and then I'm just home for the afternoon What are everyone's plans for today?

Summer, I'm chasing a client to get her papers to do her company accounts. Wednesdays seem to be the best day to get hold of her and I've just sent her an email.

Lovely to hear the doggy stories, they would love to be together all the time wouldn't they?

I hope you have succeeded in chasing up your client, El. You would think it was in her best interests to supply you with the relevant info, without you having to chase her up.

 

Squiggle, I'm sure you are right and the dogs would like to stay together all the time, and I guess it's nice for them to be with their own kind.

 

We've had really heavy rain, and it's still pouring. I got soaked running from the car to the newsagents, which was only a few metres in distance. I hope it's better where you are.

I haven't heard back from my client but the deadline isn't for another 3 months so no panic yet.

 

Yogi, it's dry here, just windy, and the strength of the wind is increasing with gusts to almost 50mph. It's still less windy than further north.

I should think she'd want to get her accounts in as soon as her year end occurs, I would, for peace of mind that it's done. And of course, if there's any errors made, it gives you plenty of time to correct them. I hope she gets in touch soon El Squiggle & yogi, I would love another little dog for Bramble, it's not practical yet to raise another but in the long term I do hope we can have 2 MIL's car passed it's MOT, she only uses it once a week so I'm not surprised lol My turn next week

A different client to the above has just dropped his papers off for me to do the VAT return. So I can do that and then on Monday I'm off to see the client who lives in the middle of nowhere (the one who got bit by blandford flies) to get the records so that will keep me busy.

 

Summer, good news re MIL's car. I hope yours gets the all clear next week.

Is the middle of nowhere an annual job El? It seems to have come round fast!

It is an annual job and it's about a year since I last did it.

Crumbs! Where's the year gone?! I blame bramble, for keeping me busy lol I'm attempting to cook dinner! I'm making mince & dumplings, and hoping mr summer will like it. I cheated on the dumplings though, they're aunt Bessie's ready made ones

Horrible news from Texas this morning . It seems that there was a fire at the fertiliser plant and the fire resulted in a tank full of ammonia exploding destroying homes and buildings in the surrounding area. At present it looks as if it's being regarded as an accident but....

Awful news about the fire/explosion in Texas.  News says there are several confirmed casualties and more than 100 people injured.

I love that little dog, thank you Xochi   I feel a bit like that owl this morning.  It's ages since I made a yorkshire pudding, I usually get the fresh ones from M & S they are lovely.

Good morning bright and cool here, and very windy. The region is covered in litter from recycling bins being blown over! Thats a fascinating link El, just imagine the possibilities!

Summer, I keep my recycling bins outside between the wheelies and the wall to give them some protection from the wind.

We have ours in bin bags el, when the kitchen bin gets full (frequently!) I put it in the wheelie. I think it's far less messy that way

Yogi! I've been up to mischief again My colleague smokes, and has left a box of cigarettes here. There's only a few in, so I made some funky coloured ones out of paper and put then in the box, she'll notice next time she comes in I know she'll find it hilarious?

One of the managers I used to work with was a smoker. Once I did a little prank on him which even he found amusing (it's got nothing to do with smoking).

He had one of those Russian furry hats looking like this (without the badge):

So I placed it on the floor and put a saucer of milk by it

ROFL! That's brilliant El I don't think so yogi, she hasn't returned any of my stupid favours yet lol but she does find it very funny

 Maybe she's just waiting patiently, then she'll spring something on you.

Nice owl, Summer - I think it's a female owl, it looks a bit girly.
