When he was pleading to eat the egg, I warned him I wouldn't be buying a replacement and he agreed. But now it's near to Easter, he doesn't want to be the only one without an egg - he's a big kid!

Good morning everyone

If it wasn't for the cold easterly wind, it would be a lovely spring day as there's plenty of blue sky here at present.

I've had my first hot cross bun today. I bought a pack of Co-op ones in their simply irrestible range and it's nice

It's not known for certain why Good Friday is called Good Friday. It's not called Good Friday in every country and is called elsewhere as Holy Friday, Black Friday, Great Friday, Long Friday, and Silent Friday.

It may be from "God's Friday" but I think that it's more likely to be good in the sense of good being holy.

According to my copy of Brewers, Christmas used to be called "The Good Tide". That's reflected in the chorus to We Wish You a Merry Christmas "Good tidings we bring to you and your kin
We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year."

Good morning everyone, nice blue sky here but still very cold.

Thank you for the Hot Cross Buns Summer, I am saving mine until lunchtime.  No easter egg for me this year for the first time ever I am so brave

Good luck with the ironing Yogi and well done on getting ÂĢ10 off your shopping, a different supermarket I know but every little helps.  I think you should tease Mr Yogi on Sunday by giving him a teeny weeny egg first of all and then relent and produce his real egg, still we know the way that husbands and with their manly ways get around us don't we?

 Indeed we do, Squiggle.

I like the idea of giving him a teeny egg first, his face will be a picture.

I replied to this post already but it seems to have disappeared.

Anyway, my parents are well, thank you Summer.

Neither of them bother much with chocolate but they might like some Hot Cross Buns, so I'll take some with me.

Enjoy your walk with Bramble.

Thanks for the info, El. I know some people struggle to understand why a day to commemorate the crucifixion of Jesus is called Good Friday.

Yogi19

For me Good Friday makes perfect sense because without it I would have no hope, because of what He undertook for us all, we can have hope that there is more beyond what we know.

Hope your mum and dad are well Yogi and will have a happy Easter weekend.  I thought I would post this picture here as it's so amazing, a recently taken picture of someone's main road on the Isle of Man

Maybe I forgot to press the "Post Reply" button.

Wow, that's some amount of snow, Squiggle. It makes a great pic though.

Just before Christmas I bought the Broken Sword complete series of adventure games on 1 DVD, I have played these over the years and they are regarded by many as classics. The first two were written many years ago but have been upgraded in the last few years. There's 4 games so I have been playing them in order. Having completed the first a couple of days ago I installed the second. However when I came to try to run it, the game crashed at the front screen. Although my computer is old, it does meet the required specifications and the graphics & DirectX drivers are the most recent. I've been in touch with the distributors to see if they can come up with a solution.

However this morning I've discovered a workaround which is one of the stranger ones. I decided to run BS1, then leaving it running at the front screen but with the music turned down, I returned to the desktop and ran BS2 at the same time.

And BS2 works as it should. Why this works I have no idea but it does.
