Summer I've copied and pasted, if you get a chance for a look
Largest Easter Bunny â Herman the German Giant
Posted by: john In: animals|funny|pictures
Herman weighs in at 22 pounds and measures a little over 3 feet. He is a breed of rabbit called German Giant (how appropriate!). This is his owner, Hans Wagner, struggling to hold him up.
Herman lives in a specially built solid oak hutch and chomps his way through just over 2kg of food a day. His owner says his favourite snack is lettuce. The giant bunny, who lives in Berlin with owner Hans Wagner, also takes a vitamin supplement to keep him healthy, and munches through a bale of hay a week.
And he' still growing, according to German breeder Hans Wagner, whose hair-raising angora hare was the highlight of a recent rabbit fair in Berlin.
According to the Post article:
To find out how unusual Wagner's wabbit is, The Post contacted Six Bells Rabbitry in Arvada, Colo.
âThatâs a huge animal. Thatâs amazing,â said breeder Michelle Jones. âIn the States, itâs hard to get them past 12 to15 pounds.â
How did German Giant get so big?
âI donât feed him an unusual diet,â said Wagner. âHe goes through more than his brothers and sisters, but he eats the same food mix. His favorite food is actually lettuce. He can never get enough of it.â
Herr Hare is unusual in another way, he noted. âUnlike some other rabbits Iâve had, he's really a gentle character â a gentle giant.â
There was another picture but I didn't like the way the guy was holding him,Herman really did not look like a happy bunny.
