It's in the Guinness book of records for being the longest running show in the West End. I don't think it's ever been made into a film though.

Don't look at the Wiki article on The Mousetrap as it says who the murderer is.

A seriously deep question

If you read Matthew 24 Jesus talks about this. He makes it clear that no one knows, not even Jesus. Only God does. It's quite clear from that chapter that people who go around forecasting that the world is going to end on a specified date is a false prophet.

Wow you have all been soooo busy this morning My eyes are quite sore from reading it all

What a clever thing to be able to do with the iPad!  And how clever of EL to be able to work out the pages on the iPad

I too think it's a little less cold this morning but it is trying halfheartedly to snow.

Going to see The Mousetrap was one of those things I always wanted to do but we never got around to it.  Although our first date (me and future hubby) was to The Amorous Prawn at the Crichton Theatre in London - my Dad was friends with a ticket agent and often got free tickets to shows that needed more people to swell the audience.  Joan Greenwood was in it I remember and it was a good laugh.  I still have the programme.

Good morning Squiggle.

How lucky to get free theatre tickets. I love going to the theatre but don't go often enough. I intend to change that when Mr Yogi retires.

Good morning squiggle

I seem to remember seeing the film version of The Amorous Prawn many years ago. That had Joan Greenwood in it as well as Ian Carmichael, Cecil Parker and Dennis Price.

Good morning EL, yes that was the line up for the stage show too.  Quite a memorable first date.  Hope all goes well with your client.

 That's sad, Squiggle.

Unfortunately, we can only plan and hope, as we can never be sure what is ahead of us.

I've returned from seeing my client but she's still getting the papers together for me so I won't be able to do much until I get the papers, probably not until after Easter.

Her daughter, who I hadn't seen before, was there as school term had ended. She's a toddler and it turns out that it wasn't glandular fever but 5 bouts of tonsilitis - my client's husband is prone to this so she's inherited it from him.

Thank you Summer   A friend of mine, who sadly passed away a few years ago, once told me she had quinsy as a child.  I didn't know what that was and she said (and I don't know whether it's true or not) that it's when the tonsils get so big that they touch each other and you can't breathe, which obviously would be a real emergency.

Summer, The Mousetrap is continuing to be shown at Sr Martins theatre in London throughout the national tour but with a different cast. The national tour was put on to commemorate the 60th anniversary.

On a point of trivia, there is one actor who has been in every peformance in the West End since The Mousetrp started. It's likely that he is also in the national tour appearance though I can't confirm that. He's quite well known and is the late Deryck Guyler:

Before you say this is impossible, it's because he recorded the radio news bulletin which is heard during the play so it's the recording which is heard.

It's true. About 1 in a 1,000 cases of tonsilitis develops into quinsy according to the NHS site. It's when an abcess with pus develops between a tonsil and the wall of the throat leading to breathing problems. Nowadays it would be treated with antibiotics and surgery.

Resist Summer, Resist!

Youngest son came for a visit this afternoon and fixed the Adobe Flash problem on my laptop. Everything is working properly again.

Re the tonsillitis issue, my mum had her tonsils removed when she was 20 because of recurring bouts of tonsillitis, but the doctors decided not to remove mine when I had the same problems. I also remember lots of children having their adenoids removed when I was young, and I can't remember hearing of anyone having that particular op in recent years. I guess the medical profession changed its mind about preferred treatments, over the years.

Off to watch the final episode of Lightfields. TBH, it hasn't gripped me, but I've stuck with it this far so I might as well see how it ends.

Goodnight all, see you tomorrow.

Hugs for Summer and any other night owls.

Good morning everyone. We've had another light dusting of snow overnight. It looks very pretty but it's very cold.

Summer, the gingerbread men look fantastic. That must have been really time consuming.  With the weather we've had recently, you'd be forgiven for thinking it was Christmas time atm.

I ought to be going grocery shopping today but will wait and see what's happening with the weather before setting off.

Have a good day everyone.
