I've had to come in to work, long story! Squiggle that pic looks lovely, the bride & groom look very happy and I love the dresses, especially the necklines I baked those cakes first thing, it only took an extra 15-20 mins Small snow showers here, but it all melts straight away Hope you're all keeping warm

At long last it's brightening up here, still cloudy, just not the featureless grey blanket this morning.

 

It will be some time before the fine detail of today's budget becomes clear but there doesn't seem to be real nasties for accountants such as myself. The most intriguiging bit is that employers will get a £2,000 rebate to be offset against their national insurance bills. That's not coming in until April 2014 and I haven't found any details about this yet but that looks to be the biggest surprise.

Sorry to say didnt watch or listen to the budget. For one i cannot stand the smug self satisfied smirk on Osbournes face and another i decided not to be depressed till later

Skylark, I didn't watch or listen to the budget either, & I'm an accountant .

What I do is to look at the technical stuff released via the HMRC website and my institute. So much of the details is in that technical stuff, the budget speech itself is only an overview.

 

I usually read all about it in the paper the next day to see if it will affect me at all.

You may have to stop the cigs and cider squiggle  

and switch over to beer

Oh yip its cheaper

Still cloudy here though not as grey as this time yesterday. Forecast to be dry during the day time though starts raining tonight and tomorrow is a wash out. Expected to be rain here tather than snow. Temperature goes down with Palm Sunday being only just above zero, not good for all those taking part in Palm Sunday processions.

 

Meeting a client this morning, the first time I've met him in for over 15 years. He's recently gone back into self-employment and remembered me from back then.

I think the Chancellor is trying everything to get the sluggish economy going Summer which is what we desperately need, otherwise we will end up in the same state as some of those in the Eurozone.

Summer, the general election isn't expected for another couple of years. Under the coalition agreement there would be a fixed term of 5 years and the election is due to take place on 7 May 2015.

Coming to terms with the first quintuplet recession in this country's history

That will be bound to happen if Ed Balls is allowed to get his hands on the economy again

Of course I dislike Ed Balls more than you do, but let's be fair to him, he has never been in charge of the economy. The highest position he ever had was Economic Secretary to the Treasury, about 5th in line! After that it was children, schools, education and so on.

I wonder how much longer the recession will last..
