Moonie, I hope Virgin Media sort your connection problems out on Thursday.
Good morning everyone. Dry and bright weather today.
I've had a chance to read back this morning.
El, I haven't had any more log in problems since I cleared the cache. Thank you for the tip, and I will remember to do it, if I ever have log in difficulties in future.
I liked the idea of the scientific proposal.
Squiggle, your grandson will probably been in a bit pain for a couple more days, but it will gradually ease, especially if he continues with the salt water. Has he managed to sort out another appointment with the surgeon at the hospital?
Summer, I hope you had a lovely breakfast after doing your food shopping. I'm about to have mine.
Moonie, I hope Virgin manage to sort out your problems on Thursday.
Good morning everyone, well done on spotting the problem yourself first Yogi I hope Virgin manage to get you connected without any hitches Moonie.
I will be phoning the surgeon's secretary this morning Yogi to try to get the ball rolling.
I haven't got the car back yet but the mechanic phoned yesterday and said it needed new shoes (brake shoes that is) and so once they come and he puts it through it's MOT hopefully I will get it back later.
It's still very cold here and grey clouds but at least its dry, I plan to fill up the bird feeders and spray the grass which grows at the top of the drive to kill it off before it can get a hold.
Thanks very much Summer
Everyone can tuck into the cake but I'm keeping the parrot as to eat it would be cannibalism
Squiggle, replacing the brake shoes shouldn't be a major job - the shoes themselves would be approx ÂĢ30 + labour.
Very good, Summer
Many Happy Returns, El.
Happy Birthday EL!
Thanks everyone for your birthday wishes and after days of greyness there's some blue sky here
Thanks Summer I was trying to be all inclusive although the parrot wasn't the right colour and I am not too sure it wasn't a cockatiel.
Car's back, sailed through the MOT thank goodness. The engineer was amazed to find I hadn't got a garage as it is in such good nick. He recommend a Waxoyl treatment (to prolong active life ) which I shall definitely do in the warmer months and says cars this old now start to go up in value
Excellent news about the MOT, Squiggle.
Summer, your beach walk sounds great. It's been lovely weather up here, so I took Keira (my fair weather walker) out for a walk and run about.
El, I hope you are having a lovely birthday.
Hi all
First chance i have had to get on. Hope you have a had a lovely day El
Hope everyone is well x
Thanks, I've had a nice day
My brother's coming down for the weekend and will arrive late Friday afternoon. He's says he's bringing a cake with him (as my birthday cake) but I've no idea what type of cake.
He sent me a lenticular meerkat birthday card from M&S. Depending on how you hold the card, the meerkat's head either looks left, looks forward or looks right.

You can see the card on that link but it looks slightly distorted.
Happy you have had a nice day El. What a lovely card, i love meerkats. Hope you have good weather for your brothers visit and have a nice catch up x
Weather here has been very springlike, was very foggy this morning but cleared up and the sun shone
Lovely card, El. My DiL has several of those meercat soft toys.
Evening Slylark
Got to sign out now. Goodnight all.
Hugs for Summer and any other night owls.
Evening Yogi x Hows your day been? Oh i see you are just off, goodnight x
Off now too, goodnight everyone, sweet dreams
Moonie, I hope Virgin Media sort your connection problems out on Thursday.

Good morning everyone
Cloudy here at present but forecast to be sunny later.
If any of you have the Radio Times for this coming week try to avoid looking at the photo on page 63 - the Choices page for Sunday the 3rd. It's about Call the Midwife and I think it probably gives away too much. Of course it may already have been leaked elsewhere.
Good morning everyone. Weather was frosty and foggy at 7am but the sun is now shining.
Keeping my fingers crossed that Virgin sort things out today, Moonie.
I think I may have seen the spoiler you are referring to, El. *zips mouth*
Good morning everyone, it's very very cold here but because its been dry I have been able to get so much done outside. Its the rain that makes life so difficult isn't it?
I wonder what sort of cake your brother is bringing EL. Does he know about us I wonder and how we drool at the cake you both share?
I don't get the Radio Times so I won't be tempted, I get TV & Satellite Week I think and I only have a quick peek at it in case I spoil anything for myself. Mind you I haven't watched any Call The Midwife yet - I like to hoard Busy working my way through Ice Road Truckers, anyone else watch? Alex is my favourite, although Lisa is a close second.
I am glad you enjoyed your trip to the theatre Summer. Were the hairy bikers talking about cooking or their travels?
I remember those huge steering wheels Summer. One guy we knew when I was a child was so small that he looked through the top part of the steering wheel
Hope all goes well today with Virgin Moonie. Skylark and Yogi hope you slept well and that the weather stays good, lovely dog walks for Kia, Keira and Bramble too.
Squiggle. my brother does know about you and the others
I have seen bits of Ice Road Truckers but it's not something I watch enough to know who's who.
If you haven't seen Call the Midwife yet we'll need to try not to say too much about it
Summer, I missed your post earlier. Glad you were able to use your friends' tickets and enjoyed The Hairy Bikers. Mr Yogi and I enjoy their programmes.
Skylark, sorry I missed you last night, as I signed out as soon as I had posted.
Squiggle, how is your grandson's mouth, has the pain eased at all?
I like how we are all looking forward to your brother's cake, El.
I saw this news item a few days ago and checked that it wasn't the ex-curate of our church who had been sent up
Salisbury Cathedral's new clerk has climbed to the top of its spire to inspect it in preparation for a new digital instrument being installed.
There is already a wind speed meter on the spire which relays information to the cathedral floor where it is checked by members of staff and is a point of interest to visitors.
The new digital anemometer will measure both wind speed and temperature.
The 123m (403ft) high spire is the tallest in Britain.
Clerk of works Gary Price said he had fulfilled a lifetime's ambition by climbing it.
He said: "I have looked up at the spire at least 10 times a day for the whole of my working life but it wasn't until 11am that morning that I knew for certain my ambition of 26 years was finally going to come true - to climb the highest medieval structure in the world, something that most people can only dream about.
"It was a great climb but I made it to the top and am now completely speechless my lifelong dream has at last become reality."
After climbing five spiral staircases to reach the top of the tower - the highest point visitors can reach - Mr Price had a further 56m to climb.
He scaled 10 ladders inside the structure to the "weather door" before climbing the final 12m with the help of two steeplejacks, ropes and metal rungs.
Information from the new equipment, due to be installed later this year, will be relayed to the cathedral's website and social media profiles, as well as to the vestry and the cathedral floor.
It will be used to ensure tower tours can take place safely and to confirm it is safe for staff and contractors to work high up on the scaffolding.
Summer, I'm glad you had a nice time at the Hairy Bikers show. That book on curries was published today:
Just had an email from one of my clients. She was warning everyone on her address book to ignore an earlier email as it contained a virus. I hadn't seen the first email but when I saw it I could see that all it had was a link to some website. I would never have just clicked on that link in any case unless I had checked with the client that they had intended to send me the email.
I've sent my client an email advising her to get her computer checked out by a local computer repair shop as I think her computer has become one of these botnet computers.
