Nope, because I dont answer them Yogi. I have a phone that displays the incoming number so just let it ring out but I can well understand people getting caught if they dont. Some days I get as many as 6 or 7. They can be blocked but I think..If they want to waste their time and money, let them

I also have caller display and don't answer any numbers I don't recognise, until I've checked them out.

I've done a google search on that phone number and have found that many people have been contacted in the last day or so from this outfit.

Sounds more than a bit suspicious to me.

I didn't press 5.

This is the page that came up when I copied that number into Who Calls Me From EL, looks like the government are going to get teeth about these calls, about time too.

Moonie and Yogi I always run the number by the above site, usually it tells me it is a scam, and then I bar the numbers, that stops the little blighters

Good for you, Squiggle.

I don't have number blocking, but I wish I did.

I'm glad something is finally being done about these callers.

Thats another great idea. Fankoo Squiggle

Moonie

Squiggle, I had looked at your link just after I got the call and realised that a lot of people had been rung in the last day or so.

Debt management companies have been claiming that they can get much of people's debts written off for some years now.

Channel 4 did a report on this back in 2006:

http://www.channel4.com/news/a...en%20off/168530.html

They push IVAs as the answer (individual voluntary arrangement). That's an alternative to a bankruptcy and may be appropriate for some people but is very definitely not a cure-all (and of course the debt management companies get a nice fee out of it).

IVAs would be viable for someone like a qualified accountant (not that I have any need for an IVA) if they were in financial difficulties, particularly as an accountant who is made bankrupt (but not IVA) will probably be stripped of their qualification by their institute, but not for many people..

A team at Oxford University have been working on a car and released this video clip today.

You are not seeing things, the person sitting in the driver's seat has his hands off the steering wheel throughout. Lasers and cameras have been fitted in the car and are used to ensure that all obstacles are avoided. Very early days and the car is being tested not on the public highway but on a specially constructed site.

Good morning mild here, with no wind I'll enjoy it while it lasts Breakfast anyone..? I had an early start; A strange alarm woke me at 5.30am and I went through several minutes of confusion trying to decide if it was a smoke alarm, the boiler going wrong, was the house on fire, were my ears ringing, was a car being stolen..? I sleepily followed the noise until I discovered it was mr summers old iPod dock that we no longer use! Of course it woke bramble too so I took her back to bed with me for a little lay in, she loved it lol What are everyone's weekend plans? We're looking forward to staying in
~Sparkling Summer~

Good morning everyone, it's lovely and dry here, I don't care if it's cloudy or whatever as long as we don't get any more rain.

I loved the goodnight pic of the dog in the basket Summer.  Isn't it odd how these things suddenly sound an alarm, obviously got fed up with being left on its own.  I remember it happened once with an alarm clock, took a while to track it down.

Breakfast looks yummy, I don't know what the weekend plans are yet, my knee has been playing up and I'm trying to rest it, if it doesn't settle down I will try to rest over the weekend.  It's been one of those weeks again and I need a quiet day today

I am so glad you got a really good nights sleep Yogi, you must have been tired.

squiggle

Yummy breakfast, Summer

No particular plans for the weekend.

Being woken early by an unusual alarm must be a bit disconcerting.

Squiggle, I'm sorry to hear your knee is playing up

At half eight this morning England beat New Zealand in their cricket match.

At half ten this morning England beat New Zealand in their cricket match.

That's not a typo, just a rather unusual coincidence - the first match was the men's teams and the second the women's teams.

El Loro

The sun is shining!

Yes, I feel better after my sleep, thanks Summer.

Am I too late to eat breakfast? What if I call it brunch? It all looks delicious.

Squiggle, I hope you get the chance to rest your knee. Do you have anything you can take for it?

El, do you mean that in football,  the club is more important than the national team?

Thanks Summer, I take Glucosamine, occasionally with Chondroitin, and I have recently started taking Hyaluronic Acid, it's getting the balance right that's the tricky bit, and I am prescribed paracetomol by the doc for pain.  It's the driving that aggravates it I think, all the up and down with the clutch.  I used to have an automatic car and that's much kinder on the left knee.

Stop encouraging me, or I'll never shift the pounds.

Yogi19
Do you need to drive much this weekend squiggle? I hope you can have a couple of days with less to do so you don't have to aggregate it perhaps a good rest will help de-flame it..? I could send captain phil over to Chauffeur you around Yogi, it's never too late for breakfast! I ate cereal for tea last night El, I quite agree about football, if they had the same team spirit attitude as cricket & rugby, I think our national team would stand a better chance of success
