Can you get a snack from anywhere close?  I saw the first two most closely, one walked right past the window and the other one walked to the edge and looked down the valley.  They were, I think, mother and daughter because the first one looked a bit bedraggled but the second one was so beautiful.  Very pale and sleek, I only saw the third one when she flew off after the other two, whether it was another daughter I don't know but I always enjoy seeing them here.  They are occasional visitors.

She looked like this

Aw the females are pretty sometimes I think they get overlooked because of the males beauty but I think they're just as lovely. I saw a lovely painting by Alex Clark that was pheasants in flight, I wish I had a spare few hundred pounds to buy it at the time Squiggle, wouldn't it be fascinating if that cloud formation was prophetic? I ounces asked mr summer if we'd need a passport to enter Scotland if they were independent from us, he laughed at me!

Hello everyone.

We had a powercut at 10.20pm last night, which affected the whole village. Once the power was restored a couple of hours later, we had no broadband or tv channels. It was still the same this morning, so I contacted Virgin, who said they were aware of the problem and it would be fixed by 3.55pm (random time!) this afternoon. So, this is my first chance to sign in.

I went to the dentist this morning, and as anticipated, I needed one of my fillings topped up. He decided to numb the area, but I think he might have overdone the meds because one side of my face was completely numb for four hours! I had to drink my soup through a straw.

Off to read back through today's posts.

Although the SNP has said that a passport would not be required on the border between Scotland and England, that could change if Scotland decided to rejoin the EU as they might then have to sign the Schlengen agreement which the UK hadn't signed. Theresa May said that Scotland could then have some form of border control, but the SNP replied that that was just scaremongering.

I haven't heard what the problem was, but hopefully it's sorted now.

I hate being without the internet, I feel so cut off from everything.

Ooh I must watch that video before bed! I can't believe the time already Some inconsiderate idiot blocked me in at work and I was late home, then we bumped into so many people during our evening walk that we didn't actually to walk very far.. You know how these evening go sometimes I see there's a bad weather forecast for all of us tomorrow, I hope you all stay warm & dry

Son phoned me for a weather update in my area. They still haven't decided whether to make the journey up north today. During the conversation, I must have uttered the phrase, "Please be really careful, if you do decide to travel today" at least three times. Son said, "Mum, will you stop worrying!". I replied, "I can't! I am your mother, you are my baby, and I'm genetically programmed to worry about you".

good almost noon, hope you're all warm & safe I've had a busy morning, including running errands and gritting around the cars. It's just started to snow again, our forecast is pretty awful for around the time I finish work. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the roads stay clear and people are cautious. Poor bramble is not her normal self, the height of the snow has been no problem for her physically but it appears to have rubbed her underneath sore and she's even left traces of blood.. We've tipped her over and had a good look, it's not awful enough to take her to the vets but we're keeping a close eye on her. She also threw up a couple of times in the night, but the last pile had a stringy bit in from where she's obviously chewed a toy and swallowed some Again, I'm keeping a close eye on her. She's still wanting to eat, drink and play, so that why I haven't rushed her to the vets. I can't even put cream on her chapped skin because she'll only lick it straight off, but I know how sore it must be because my knuckles crack & bleed from time to time

I agree Yogi, and it gets worse, my eldest grandson is 21 next week and planning to celebrate with a group of mates at a club (unusual for him as he isn't the clubbing type).  So yesterday we had a conversation where I was saying, only drink out of bottles, keep your thumb over the top (he says they have special caps now which go on the bottles) only I am sure loads of people think it's a laugh to spike your drink.  I'm taking him to the dentist again on Tuesday and I shall have another little talk to make sure he is aware of all the dangers including people starting fights.  He has already come up against both those dangers, idiots punching him and his brother and when he was in the pub where there was a girl celebrating her 18th some guy had bought her a pint (don't ask me why ) which she didn't want so my grandson said 'I'll have it' the next thing he knew it was late the following afternoon   It's a dangerous world out there.

Poor Bramble

The wind is picking up here. I've just popped out to do a bit of local shopping and the wind is making it feel colder.

Just had someone from church ringing me up in a panic because she needs to do her tax return by the 31st. She doesn't have a computer and had asked a friend to do it for her but the friend is ill. So I'm off to see her on Monday morning. There's very little involved with her tax so it should only take a short time.

Aww squiggle, I feel for you.

I think the "going out clubbing stage" is one of the most worrying. All three of mine would get the chat before they went out (youngest still does).

Summer we must have posted at the same time and so I missed your earlier post.  Poor Bramble, she doesn't sound like a happy girl.  You wouldn't think that the snow could cause such damage but when you think about how rough it is when it turns to ice, and I hope she recovers soon from eating something she shouldn't have.  I wonder if they learn from eating something like that or it is just a puzzle to them why they don't feel well.

Well done EL, I know you will be able to calm down your fellow churchgoer and sort her out in time
